So is the US safe or is the FBI being duped by the bad guys?

In Soviet Russia(or perhaps occupied Iraq?), sleeper cells find you.

That website really didn't say a whole lot, just that they're unsure if Al-Quaeda has the capability to attack us. Nothing new, really...

Hey, this seems an appropriate thread for this:

I got a housecall from the FBI last night. They were looking for the prior occupants of my apt., who were some Middle Eastern dudes on student visas (which is itself pretty unremarkable. Neighborhood's about a threeway split between Arab, Greek, and Russian/Ukie). Simple interview: "How long you live here?" "You ever get mail for the prior occupants?" that sort of thing. I was a little leery of the whole business. I wasn't expecting black suits, but the agents were wearing windbreakers and jeans. I asked for their IDs, but it occurred to me, as I was looking at them, that I got absolutely no idea what an FBI ID looks like. Sure, I've seen them go floating by in the X-Files theme, but with that much information, I'm aware that I could be fooled by a Kinko's job. It also occurred to me that if someone were going to impersonate a cop, the way to do it is to impersonate the FBI. Everybody knows what an NYPD shield looks like, but how many folks can recognize a fake FBI ID? More to the point, city cops might be taken in by the FBI ID, whereas they wouldn't be as easy to fool with a fake badge. If the impersonator had the stones to try it, it'd really be far less risky than impersonating a cop.

Anyway, I wasn't going to let them into the building, so we did the interview on the stoop. If I wasn't on the list before, I am for sure now. And I might be living in a former safehouse. Boo-yah.
