So will PSV get 46 and a half votes?
Somehow I doubt it.

I'm thinking it'll be one of these three:
AC Milan
Juventus
Chelsea
looking at the line-ups i can't figure out how Lyon have gotten this far... of course drawing Werder Bremen in the round of 16 didn't hurt.

Didn't they get this far last time too?
I'm going to bet on AC Milan because I'm boring.

here's what pisses me off about the blind draw:
AC Milan vs. Manchester United
Lyon vs. Werder-Bremen
...you have two of the top 4 or 5 teams in Europe playing in the round of 16 while two decent (but not great) teams are playing each other.
Same with the Chelsea vs. Barcelona tie.
i think they should seed the teams so the ties are more balanced... so two great teams don't have to play in the round of 16.
Now watch -- chelsea and Milan will draw each other in the quarterfinals while Lyon will play PSV.

I hope it will be PSV, only to have a huge party in the centre of town :)

Personally, a Liverpool vs. Lyon/PSV quarter final would be 'useful'...

Anything else though would draw complaints from the supporters of those put in the "B" pool.
Last round the group winners were put in one pot and the runners up in another. If Barca had won their group they would never have had to play Chelsea. The same with Man U and Milan. If a team can not win its group then it can not claim to be amongst the top 4 or 5 teams in Europe, even if the maority of fans think so.
The next round is a little more random, true. But we are down to the last eight. How would you like to decide who is pot A and who is pot B?

Chelsea will win. Roman Abramovich is richer than Berlusconi and Quadaffi's son.

It's subjective, sure, but come on... look at the players on the teams. My favorite team is Liverpool, and I realize that the reason they're in the final 8 is that they were a)in a weak group without a really dominant force and b)got to play a very average Leverkusen side in the round of 16.
Barcelona and Milan were in the same group... good luck finishing ahead of Milan.
not all of those groups were equal in strength, imo.
but hopefully these Qfinal pairings will be somewhat even in strength.

The groups are seeded by where teams finished in what leagues at the end of the season before. Of course there will be situations like Barcelona and Milan being in the same group, but this is due to Barca's poor form in the first half of last season. Consistency will give you more often than not give you a good group.
The Qfinals have to be randomly drawn really. There is no fairer way of doing it. Unless you seed the whole knockout phase on the basis of results in the group phase. This would have given a huge advantage to Chelsea this year due to the low standard of teams in their group. Liverpool would have been seeded much lower as they did not dominate their group, whereas Juve would have been top seed
Seedings
1 Juventus 16 pts
2 Inter Milan 14 pts
3 Lyon 13 pts 1st GD +9
4 Chelsea 13 pts 1st GD +7 GS 10 (coin toss)
4 AC Milan 13 pts 1st GD +7 GS 10 (coin toss)
6 Bremen 13pts 2nd
7 Monaco 12 pts
8 Leverkusen 11 pts 1st
9 Man Utd 11 pts 2nd GD + 5
10 Real Madrid 11 pts 2nd GD +3
11 Arsenal 10 pts 1st
12 Bayern 10 pts 2nd GD + 7 GF 12
13 Barcelona 10 pts 2nd GD +3 GF 10
14 Liverpool 10 pts 2nd GD +3 GF 6
15 PSV 10 pts 2nd GD -1 GF 6
16 Porto 8 pts
This would have given
Juventus vs Porto
Leverkusen vs Man utd
Lyon vs Liverpool
Bremen vs Arsenal
Milan vs Bayern
Chelsea vs Barcelona
Monaco vs Real Madrid
Inter vs PSV
Pick your winners and see what happens in the QFinals
My prediction would have been
Juve vs Man U
Lyon vs Bremen/ Arsenal
Milan vs Chelsea
Inter vs Real Madrid
Juve look to have an easier path than any team in the bottom half.
It does not work very well. No better than random draws.

AC Milan for me. A great all-round team with no weaknesses... and with Shevchenko coming back I don't see anyone stopping them...
