Got a word that pisses you off?

Don't know how to spell a word and want to vent?

Want to rip on others' misspelling of worrdes?

This is your place.

okay, what the F*** is "PWN3D"?

is it "owned" for toddlers or something?

if it's used enough, it'll end up in Webster's...

pwned was once a mistake when somebody tried to type "owned", but for some reason it became cool and super net-nerdy and stuff

my spelling is ok for the most part, but.... stuff

pwned is what computer nerds use when they say they are going to kick someones ass or they have beaten someone, like I just pwned him at hockey or something like that. It's part of that l33t language that all the internet geeks seem to think is cool.

Never Eat Celery. Eat Salad Sandwiches And Remain Young. => Necessary (It's how I remember it...)

I tend to type "mroe" instead of "more", as if anyone cares... (And no, a mnemonic doesn't help, it's a typing thing, different speeds of hands when at full pelt and all....)

LMAO... the above post reminds me of a device I used to remember a couple rows of the periodic table... needed it for college chem:

pet peeve:

barbeque

the correct spelling, of course, is "barbecue"

with a c, not a q

barbeque would be bar-be-kay (spanish) or bar-be-kwuh

lol
------
another peeve:

catsup

if i want a cat to sup something, i'll spell the words separately.

the word is pronounced "ketch-up", so its alternate spelling of "ketchup" is far better than "catsup" imo.

Heinz and Hunts call it ketchup, sealing this option's nomination over "catsup".

Too many to list; however I do add alot of 'e's onto the end of words. This is becuase I have to convert from an object in my head into English
For example:
In my head I think of dolphines (not just a word but everything I know about dolphines is 'stored' under this name) and I have to remember to convert from my head's name "dolphine" to the english "dolphin" everytime I write.

Is this - in any shape or form - normal?

I'll try and remember that.

Though I like the way of spelling before standardised spelling came in. A few ground rules, but generally just spell how you think it should be spelled.

I dont hate words, I hate ppl who make fun of typos. Get a life, or F*** my english teacher or bother! If you can understand what someone is saying why does spelling matter? People also get pissed off at chatspeak. Its rediculous. This is just a forum and chatspeak is faster to type. As for 1337 screw it. Only use is to piss of grammar/spelling freaks. 74|<3 7|-|47 6124/\/\ /\/\4|2 4/\/|) 5|>33|1/\/6 |>|>1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some say that because this is just the internet, and especially messageboards, spelling and grammar do not matter. I believe they do. It is aggravating to read continuous incorrect spellings of words - once in a while, it's no big deal because all of us experience times when we cannot remember how to spell a word - but all the time is just hard for me to accept without a person realizing that they need a dictionary and thesaurus next to his or her keyboard. Anyway, try and read a message or piece that someone wrote that is filled to the brim with mistakes - you'll want to pull your hair out. Now, I agree with you regarding chat - abbreviations and words spelled phonetically are recognized as acceptable. By the way, you only had one mistake in your post. lol
