This is a question for anyone outside the united states.. im just wondering if the oath of marriage is a universal one.. (within realitive translation)

"Do you .... take .... to be your beloved (husband/wife) to have and to hold, cherise and to love, in sickness and in health till death do you part"

Edit: to be specific.. im talking about state marraiges.. obviously different religions will say different things

I personally think the state needs to get out of marriage and just leave it up to the indiviual and to the churches, or place of worship.
