worst week ever
sunday: my mouse gets sick
monday: slip on the ice and fall into a mud puddle
tuesday: was ok until huge fight with the boyfriend of 1.5 years.
today: i think it's over.
i suppose the good news is that i don't think it's possible for things to get any worse.

Assuming Dakini is not a mole.

Compared to weeks I've had, that's nothing.
Hope you feel better though. :D

Would an amusing anecdote about how I blocked traffic for my whole town cheer you up?

Well it snowed last night, and our landlord didn't plow our parking lot this morning. I went to go to the bank, and got my truck's rear wheels stuck halfway into the street, and I just so happen to live at the busiest intersection in my town. So I was blocking off an entire lane of traffic for about 5 minutes as I dug out. But the best part was that down the street, someone rear ended someone else as a direct result of them having to wait for me, so the traffic ended up getting backed up even longer. :D

Well, you could slip into a coma... Though, that might relieve you, somewhat.

I'm not terribly empathetic, so I don't really know what to say. But I will say that is nothing compared to the last six years of my life. And if you ask what about those last six years I'm sorry, but alot of the stuff is terribly personal and I have a tough time even telling my closest friends about it.
EDIT: I will say this it involves getting shunned by a town for something I didn't do, finding out my sister has a surrogate mother because my mother had problems a week before her telling me that she hates me and wishes I was never born, and plenty of other painfull things that has left me in a sociopathic masochistic sadistic life style.

Take the positives out of everything!!
sunday: my mouse gets sick
I get to spend more time with my mouse nursing it to health.
monday: slip on the ice and fall into a mud puddle
Boy was it fun in the mud. I miss playing with mud. Boy do I wish I was a 5 year old and ate worms too.
tuesday: was ok until huge fight with the boyfriend of 1.5 years.
I spoke my mind, I think he would respect me for it.
today: i think it's over.
My life is adventurous
Well, you could slip into a coma... Though, that might relieve you, somewhat.
I wouldn't have to write midterms. Probably not exams either, they'd get deferred.
sunday: my mouse gets sick

I get to freak out about why it's sick and how to get it back to health because I don't know anything about medicine for small animals.
monday: slip on the ice and fall into a mud puddle
Boy was it fun in the mud. I miss playing with mud. Boy do I wish I was a 5 year old and ate worms too.
I fell into a cold, shallow mud puddle on top of a parking lot. I not only got dirty the day after doing my laundry, I also banged up my knees bad enough that I haven't been able to walk well until today.
tuesday: was ok until huge fight with the boyfriend of 1.5 years.
I spoke my mind, I think he would respect me for it.
He was complaining about things that happened before we even met and said that he was disgusted with himself for engaing in physical contact with me over our entire relationship.
today: i think it's over.
My life is adventurous
If by adventurous, you mean I get to spend all day every day working on assignments and studying and that this board is the closest thing I have to a life?

Your not being helpful. :( Be Optimistic :)

Would you be up for a rather large, blunt object hitting the back of your head? Because, you know, I could do that.
Life can be the pits, and it sounds like yours was surely trying for some sort of award...I hope the mouse, the knees get better soon, the boyfriend sounds like he's not worth the pain and I'll cross my fingers on the mid terms.

The only really long term relationship i've been in lasted a year and a half as well.
I think i had a nervous breakdown when it came apart, i've been a different person ever since.
And it is March, the Ides of March, lots of bad things happen in march.
I had my ides of march the last week of february actually. I had a week long love affair with a wonderful girl, but it wasnt to be.
That friday marked the first time I've ever put a loaded and cocked gun to my head with my finger firmly on the trigger. Dumb, very dumb.
I ended up deciding not to shoot myself and instead went out to dinner.
I went to my favorite italian place and as I know the proprietress, she noticed i was a "bit glum" and insisted I have wild boar ragout. It was very good, Sima Verzino is a wise woman and it cheered me up. First time i'd eaten wild boar. Fine food can cure all ills, in my opinion. Someone said once "the purest love of all is the love of food."
I've been having a fucking lovely time since.
Well, that ended up a rant.
In any case all my condolences, but you will survive and be a stronger and better person for it.

I'm sorry you're experiencing such an awful week, Dakini. How is your mouse doing (what's it's name?) and as for your boyfriend - any new developments tonight? Couples can make up in a heartbeat, and I hope you and he are one of those couples. The only thing I can say is - 'it's always darkest before the dawn,' so, hang in there, hon - the only way you can go now is - UP. Take care.

My mouse's name is Artemis. I think she's doing better, I saw her with food last night and she seems a little more active than before. My other mouse, Athena, has been looking after her a bit I think, she made up a nest for them and covered up the window of their little house with stuff so it would be dark for Artemis.
All new developments have been negative it seems. Apparantly he regrets ever asking me out in the first place. Great, huh?

sunday: my mouse gets sick
Just to let you all know, hamsters can catch the common cold. Which is quite unique. Not particularly dangerous, but a hamster sneezing is classic.
From my extensive experience with small furry animals, they often catch stuff but like you and I generally heal themselves easily if kept clean and adequately warm.
... stuff so it would be dark for Artemis.

Artemis asked you out :D
But really, critisism of the opposite partner after a breakup is common and normally not true. Fact is, he did ask you out, and seemed to have liked it..

now i feel worse because i'm getting all upset that he wants to give the bear i had made for him away to the salvation army.

Screw him! Well, not literally. He sounds like quite the head case, and he shouldn't be taking out his issues on you. Tell him you need a week (or whatever amount of time until your midterms are done), and you don't want to hear from him in the meantime.
If it is truly over, a week won't make a difference, and if it isn't, maybe he will have his shit together a bit more. At any rate, you won't have to deal with his crap during midterms.
I'm glad to hear Artemis is doing better. May she continue to improve.

Artemis and Athena - great names. Wasn't 'Artemis' one of The Three Musketeers? I'm glad the little mouse is doing better. See, things are looking up already.
I'm sorry your boyfriend is acting so lame - he must have liked and cared about you or he wouldn't have asked you out in the first place. Perhaps you two should give it a couple of days - a lot of hurtful things can be said in the heated moments of a lovers' quarrel. I hope it gets better for you. I always say to myself when something negative is happening - 'if it is meant to be, it will be.'

Wow, this thread is full of emotional support. I wish I could add some, but I suck at empathy.
artemis is the greek goddess of the moon and hunt. if someoen named one of the three musketeers that, that's silly as it was the name of a female goddess first. though one of the cats on sailor moon was named artemis and he was a boy cat.. *shrugs*
as for things with my bf, i dunno, we seem to have fights like this from time to time, usually not this serious... he's never really liked that i've dated other people before him. though that's something that's a little hard to change, really so i don't know what he expects me to do about it.
