500 Thousand plus Lebanese want Syria to stay, as they most likely see each other as brothers, whilst also stopping a possible invasion by Israel.

60 thousand Anti-Syrian protestors want them out.

Any difference in opinion?

And Whispering Legs...? Just out of an assumption are you ex army.?

Yes, ex-Army Infantry.

Israel isn't going to invade Lebanon. That's a scare story.

Pulling out doesn't make things any safer and it's so.....

so....

Anti-climatic.

Oh wait, what was the topic?

Nevermind.

EDIT: Huh? Oh! OK, I stand by what I said. Even if I did misread that one word.

Germany in WW2 said they would not invade many countries........But they did.

And yes thats what I thought.....No offense but I find with many armed force members that they are often very pro-America...And often biased...Perhasp they are brainwashed?

Although the one thing I love about American Soldiers particuarly Ex...Is that they are very patriotic about their country...

A feat that I admire and give Kudos too.

Your perception of me is way off. I am not pro-US on all things - nor am I brainwashed.

I do not seek to engage in the naive game of applying labels of "good" or "bad", or "right" or "wrong" to the actions of a country.

Countries do what they do because of realpolitik. Anything else is propaganda.

I have a suggestion. Go fight in a war, and come back, and tell me why men fight - and how that differs from why countries go to war. Then you'll understand.

hey fellas, save the political debate for a political thread. this isn't one. Read the title more carefully.

personally, i don't think lebanon needs syria in her life anymore, but if she thinks that the two of them can really stay friends "with benefits" then i guess that's her choice. I jsut hope she doesn't make it, i want her back on the market. I mean, let's jsut face the simple fact, lebanon is fucking HOT. :D

Lebanon has been fucked by quite a few countries. Turkey, Israel, Syria...

She really gets around. I don't see why the rest of the UN shouldn't pull a train...

First off I never sad you were....I just mearly said what many of the armed forces seem to be like from coming into counter with many.....

As for fighting in a war...I can tell you I have seen pains that conventional warfare could never achieve.....So I know why people fight to protect themselves....

Just because I am younger then you....It doesn't mean I have not seen just as much death and misery.....

I'm sure we can pass the Viagra around, and give Lebanon a good workout...

We may need some lube, but I bet we can make her airtight...

you know what, at the end of the day, theres a shitload of countries that would do her, and she's got 3 holes and two hands. plus feet, if you're into that kinda thing. Plus from what i hear, she don't sleep much. i think the more prudent question is who won't fuck her. But the oriinal topic was not about lebanon, it was about syria.

Yes, Syria should pull out.
Lebanon should be able to look after itself already, it's been what, 15 years since the civil war?

It is most preferable that Syria leaves, though I do have my reservations. Considering America and Israel are so keen to see this happen, I sure hope they don't have their incentives and put troops in Lebanon. Some people feel that without Syria's presence, Israel is likely to invade, whilst others feel this is extremely unlikely, and that the Lebanese people would never let this happen. I hope they won't, but personally I don't think the Lebanese have a lot of power at the moment.

Syria should defiantly get out, but I'd much prefer Syrian occupation than American or Israeli occupation (Heaven forbid).

Also, while America and Isreal's insistence for Syria to get lost is likely to benefit Lebanon, (if they don't have any secret greater motives) it's terribly hypocritical, considering Israel is occupying the land of the Palestinians (not even co-existing equally) and America is occupying Iraq.

That's ok - it's not like we're worried about sloppy seconds - considering how many times other countries have had Lebanon.
