This evening I had to visit my local doctor in regards to some tests he had done previously. He gave me some rather shocking news. He said I have a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumor. It is a high grade malignant one and it looks advanced.

He doesn't know yet what the final prognosis will be, but it don't look good. I have to see a specialist tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Where would this tumor be located? Doesn't sound good anyway, but if it's not in a really bad place (brain, sexual organs), it should be operable.

It is in my frontal lobe, of my Cerebrum. I don't think they can do much for it as it is advanced.

No words are adequate, methinks. Especially "Sorry to hear that." LOL.

But seriously, Johnny, if it makes you feel better I am genetically guaranteed to be a cancer victim. Basically 99% of my relatives had it. My grandfather got it the worst I think, he had prostate cancer. That's one of those things I've had to accept and move on from. But I think you might have a chance bud. I hope you do at least. I'll pray for you, and that's the best I can offer. If nothing else, rest assured in the knowledge that I'll get it too.

The best of wishes are with you. I will pray to the only gods that exist, those of science, on your behalf. The power of nerdy devotions is nothing to sneer at, let me tell you.

And don't under-estimate the wonders of modern medicine foe one second Johnny. Keep you head up!!!!

Get radiation treatment and Chemo(sp?)-Therapy as soon as possible. If it's up *there*, what've you got to lose?

Do it, or you'll regret it.

OMG, how shocking to find that out! If it helps, start a notebook with any questions you might have. A good friend of mine is fighting a difficult battle with cancer, and between all the doctors and tests and information she has found, having a notebook to help keep track of it all.

I believe in the power of positive thinking and miracles, too. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope they have some idea of a way to help you fight this.

Yes, of course it'll be years before he recovers fully from the treatments, especially since it is in his BRAIN. You have any idea what radiation can do to brain cells? I doubt it. And that's assuming he does. No, his best option option is to hope the tumor can be removed before spreading. My cousin is partially blind because of a brain tumor that had to be removed. However, his vision has increased now to where he has "tunnel vision." For a long time he couldn't see at all. However, his case was extremely advanced, and the tumor itself had damaged the brain tissue, not the surgeons. So hopefully they can extract it in Johnny's case. If they do, and there is nothing left, then he won't have to undergo radiation/chemo. Which, by the way, is absolutely horrible.

Ha Ha, so funny, but just remember the whole karma thing.

I don't think a gay Nazi with cancer is all that funny.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I went to see the specialist and he did all sorts of things to me today. He's going to give it all he's got. He thinks it is treatable though, so we shall see.

I'll keep you in my prayers. In fact, I usually don't really have the initiative to pray, but I will just for you. I think it'll be OK though. I certainly hope so. As long as they can get rid of the thing before it start to replicate too badly...

Anyways, how old are you? The worst thing is when this happens to a young person.

Oh, my. I am sorry to hear your news. Well, mind over matter is powerful so - think positively and do everything the doctors say - chemo and/or radiation. Start eating the right foods that will help - you can find sites on the internet that will tell you exactly what foods to eat and what foods to stay away from. And pray. And don't lose hope.

Good Luck, Johnny.

Thank you.

I'm 65, so if the worst happens, I'll die having lived a rich, full life. I've been blessed with many wonderful memories and wouldn't want to live another life.
