I know this sounds stupid, but I'm currently falling in love with a woman that I am 95% sure is a lesbian. She seems to have taken to me, as well(or maybe its just my imagination), but I kinda daoubt she'll be willing to give up her lifestyle for one guy. Advice?

I had a gay friend (guy) fall in love with me once. It was strange. In the end, I knew we should/could be only friends, so I was honest with him and he eventually continued on with his lifestyle. He was a great guy....we'd have probably married.

I say be honest with her and put everything out on the table and insist that she is honest with you. There are a lot of things to discuss in a situation like that, so open yourself up and talk about it thoroughly with each other.

You can't just lump sexual orientation into "straight", "gay", and "bi". It is more like there are poles, and that people land somewhere in between these poles.

Well, ya know, I don't want to assume. All theevidence seems to point in that direction, though. I don't really know her all to well, so thats why i say I may be imagining there's something between us, but I just wanted some advice in advance, in case, I do end up heading down that road.

In my experience a lot of homosexual people are to one degree or another bisexual.

Having found myself in the situation where I had a major crush on a lesbian I can say that it really is a no-win situation.

The best I got out of it was a somewhat backhanded compliment that I "reaffirmed" that she was a lesbian. To use her words "If there was ever a chance I'd be happy with a guy, you'd be him. It confirms that I really am gay."

PC's right. Friendship comes first. Love is a great addition. So's sex if love never hits. Cuddle buddies aren't girlfriends, but they're rather nice.

Also: How do you know she's not bi-sexual? Just about every woman I end up close to is bi-sexual (yay bi-dar!), but about half of them are only 'theoretically' bisexual. That is, they generally prefer guys, but if they really really liked a woman... :fluffle:

And remember this. If you love her. If you truly love her. Her answer will not change that. Being the mope isn't fun, but don't you -dare- do the "I love you this week" garbage on anyone.

Beyond that, at least in regards to sexual matters... there are lesbians that occassionally 'slip'. Lesbians do, after all, often use toys to, ahem, plumb the depths. They probably don't want to LOOK that much, but an especially squishy sex toy that also grabs and gropes... Heck, I've had a lesbian offer me to cyber as a special exception before because she liked my personality just that much.

Like someone mentioned, its a sliding scale. Just try not to tick her off. Try "Hey, have you ever considered.. you know... another extremely attractive, intelligent and all-around wonderful woman?" :D

Also, you may wish to try it via the net. Tends to be easier to coax sexual info out of people when they don't have to look in to your eyes.

Maybe you should talk to her more about her sexuality. You never know, her sexuality may not be all that rigid. Sexuality isn't really a one way street for a lot of people. Sometimes it takes an opportunity to present itself before someone will jump at something. At least this way, you'll have more perspective in case you do try to make a move. :)

If you don't really know her that well, then get to know her. Hang out with her, talk with her, spend time with her. That's the only sure way of figuring out if she's into you, lesbian, bi, or straight.

If she's bi, straight, or lesbian who wants to experiment, great for you. Talk to her and she'll let you know one way or another.

If she's lesbian, bi, or straight and not into you, then at least the time you put into her can be put into developing a good friendship.
