I have a plan, nay, a dream which I shall share with you in this thread. That dream is to have more hours in a day! Amazing, I know, but think of how our children will thank us. We will slow down the rotation of the Earth in order to give us an extra three hours! The calendar might have to be readjusted, but I'm sure its for the best. Think about it! An hour of extra sleep, an hour of extra work/pay and an hour of extra pay! So join with me today for the call to slow the Earth's spin just a little!

I think we should have 100 minutes in an hour, 10 hours in a day, 10 days in a week, 10 weeks in a month, and 10 months in a year.

That comes out to 10000 hours a year or 10^3. (or 1 million minutes)

Under our current system we have 12*[4.3*7~30]*24 hours = 8668 hours (520080 minutes? Is my math right?)

So we need shorten the minute by ~1/2 and make an hour 15% longer to go chronometric.

well using newtons third law of motion.

"Every action has an equal but oppersite reaction"

you could walk in the same direction as the earths rotation and slow it down. true you would have to walk for a very long time.

better get started Patra Caesar

This is an excellent idea. I know of one forum member (I don't know if he's still around...) who thinks that George Bush's ancestors might be able to help us with this! Let's find them!

In the (I think) 17th century there were some people that created a 10 days a week calendar. People didn't like it because they wouldn't have as many sundays off

Do we get to rename the days of the week? If so then vote me in.

It'll never work. You're thinking too one dimensionally. One dimensional time went out of date years ago. If you want to convince me that this is a good idea you'll have to integrate it with the modern accepted theories of "cubed time" which is a far more accurate reflection of reality.
