Let us say you posted a thread a few hours ago and you've just come back and no one has even read it. You might 'bump' the thread so it'll be near the top of the thread list so more people have a chance to participate in the thread.

I am still sure it started in my highschool in either grade 9 or 10. I use it as a substitute for whatever, it goes along well with a shrugging of shoulders.

"Meh" is a noise indicating mediocrity. Like if I said that I thought Pizza was the best food. If you like pizza, but you don't think it's the best, you could say "Meh, it's okay."

Actually there are a lot of stupid questions, they just rely on the situation they're asked in. For example, 'Did you hurt yourself?' in itself isn't a stupid question, but it is when asking it to a guy who just fell out of a five-story high window.

that's one of the points, yes ... assuming he did survive, he's probably unconscious, and if he isn't you know what the answer will be ... three levels of stupidity

All the obvious posters' words were new to me when I came here: RP, RW, thread, flamebait, trolling, godmoding. Most of them explained themselves once I saw them in context often enough. IC and OOC I'd met before. I knew what "bump" did and how to do it, but I didn't know what it stood for -- thanks, Alenaland. What about "Tag"? Does it stand for anything other than the action of tagging a thread so it will be easy to come back to (by automatically subscribing you to that thread, in case someone else is still stuck).

I love "fluffle". (I quite like fluffles, too). Do any of the other emoticons have special names?

Every time I TG I grin, because this must be one of the few places in the world where telegramming is still widespread.

BTW, the one labelled Very Happy or Talking reminds me of Jimmy Carter, and Surprised surely lives in South Park.

The NS words I really enjoy are the ones where speakers of the different brands of English fail to understand each other. It's even better when we rail at each other for mis-spellings and bad grammar when, in fact, we're just being True To Our School .. well, country.

never heard "deat" anywhere else

DEAT was brought to this game by the great Senior Game Moderator Neutered Sputniks. It's a misspelling of the word "Dead" that he saw somewhere (I think in a newspaper).

It is an adjective, not a verb. Therefore, "DEATed" is not an accurate term, use "DEAT". If you really have to use a verb, use "deadened" or "modbombed".
