A double-layer, rewritable Blu-ray disc can store about 54 GB, enough to hold about 4.5 hours of high-definition video or more than 20 hours of standard video.
THat's more than half the storage capacity of my entire computer, on a disc.

Blu-Ray looks far better, but the simple truth is that these corporations don't give a flying fuck about quality. They just want faster production speed and lower manufacturing costs, so...

HD-DvD is gonna win. Sad, but true. That is, unless, people actually buy Blu-Ray discs instead of HD-DvD's.

Remember what happened to Betamax? The quality was far, far better than VHS, but VHS was so cheap. That's why there's not Betamax, and production studios still use VHS as a low-cost alternative.
