As we are all aware, not everyone can maintain their composure at all times. Sometimes we are all prone to flying off the handle and doing things we, at least should, later regret. However i, among others, have noticed a growth in the number of posters who feel personal attack is a reasonable way to conduct a proper debate, or indeed any conversation in general. I know this is not a new problem, but it is an increasing one, and im taking this chance to remind you all, it isn't on.
I am aware that i have only been provoked into saying this by an attack upon myself, but it has been something that has troubled me for some time.
On the 05/03/05 (DD/MM/YY) i received a message from, someone who shall remain, for the time nameless. Now i received it on yahoo which i rarely log onto and so wasnt aware of the problem however.
fucking pedophile lover, eh?
A minor attack i know, but i feel that its time i said something.
For starters, this doesnt belong in moderation, i should assume the perpetrator will hold himself to blame rather than it be nesessary for a mod to hear of it, especially as it is off-site.
As well as the fact that i have pionted out that i am not a pedophile and do not support violent actions against humans, my political views and even my nation and the nation RP support this and i am suprised that someone who tries to remain strictly objective should be so misunderstood.
More importantly, how many of you have taken it upon yourselves to continue your persecution of the far right, or your disdain for the left off these forums and into someones TG box, or onto MSN, AIM or YAHOO? How many of you have contributed to the regular stream of hatred that far right nations recieve whether or not the post in the general boards?
I must remind you all, whether you RP or not, what is IC is strictly IC, and should never be taken as OOC, and what is OOC should never affect IC.
And to all of those taking part in General Board discussions, the views expressed here are the views of an actual person and merely offending them and attempting to lessen their value as a human being will not change them, more likely re-inforce them. Only a rational identification of the root of the person beliefs will tell you how to change them, and even then you should consider carefully whether it is your right or your duty to do so.
