Who gives a sugar?

Whittier-

Who gives a damn. Just lie back, close your eyes, relax and do nothing but think for at least 30 minutes. Why the fuck worry bout anything. Just let it pass. Let the river of time sweep it away. Focus on your breathing for 20 minutes.
That's my life philosophy summed up into one sentence. Don't worry bout anything.
Just make sure you vent everyonce in a while though.

Reminds me of a school-trip, where someone was relaxing like you do, saying: "I let the Chi flow through the room."
Then another guy replied: "What, did you just wet your pants?!"

Screw the Chi, you don't need it. Forget the mantras you don't need them either. And you can toss out the rosary cause that ain't needed either. It has to be just you and God and no used up mantras or institutionalized prayers are allowed. Otherwise it won't work. Just focus on what is good, holy, pure, and just. And your consciencesness will be raised and you shall ascend as I have. When you realize you have ascended, it will feel weird. Just relax, concentrate on what is good, holy, pure, and just and rise above the petty things we call your everyday life. And remember to inhale deep breaths through your nose and keep your eyes closed.

That's not to say "Be apathetic," or "Be lethargic."

I understand what you're saying, mate. I do that often myself, only not for reasons of "ascending to a higher consciousness." Maybe it is that, and I just don't care much for the terminology... I do feel a better peace in life, and stress is a non-issue for me. Just lie down, drop everything, and just pray... Nothing "Hail Mary" (I'm not Catholic :P), but just a simple conversation between me and God.

Even if you're Jewish, you believe in Yahweh. And I know it's not a relationship with Him in Judism as it is in Christianity, and if you're atheistic/agnostic/pagan (pagan isn't "evil," it just means you don't believe in the Judeo-Christian definition of "God", be it Hindu, Buddhist, or what have you), then just reflect on doing nothing. Let go of stress, let go of cares, worries, et cetera, don't even put on music. Dream, if you like. It sounds very New-Age, but I think the idea and feeling of peace and joy have been around much longer than the idea of New-Age religion.

Just remember: Joy does not depend on your situation. Joy nowadays is considered as happiness or physical pleasure. That's not joy; joy is having a peace of which no matter what may torment you, it doesn't discourage you, pull you down, what have you.

So, just take fifteen minutes out of your day to calm down, and drop everything that doesn't matter in this world. Which, for the most part, is everything. Because as morbid as it is, face it: Death is a part of life. And it's coming faster than you think. So why spend life losing hair, growing an ulcer, and raising blood pressure about things that don't even last?

surely god wouldn't want you to relax? Christianity (as i understand it) is all about gettting people to actively convert and trying to make your own life more holy. So if you lie down and god speaks to you, i reckon he would say something like 'get up, you lazy slob i ain't saving your ass from hell so you can lie there and daydream! I give you eight hours a night, the rest is my time!'

Slow soothing music can be helpful to some people because it helps them to relax and get into the meditative state.

Ah, Liasia, but all time is God's time. He only loans it to us.
It was written by the Son himself, that no man can make himself holy.
But only that we should seek to be holy, knowing that though we seek, we shall not attain. That we may become more reliant on God.
All things have their time. And the seasons will come and go. The heavens and the earth shall indeed pass away. But he who is eternal and omniscient, shall reign forever.

Here is my meditative exercise: I take off my watch, and focus on the hands for a full hour, looking at nothing else. It is fun to watch a watch's hour hand move.

I never think about what is holy pure, good and just. It takes away from my joy of ignorance.

I only posted because I was told there was free icecream. No icecream AND I have to think about what is holy pure, good and just. Forget it I'll pass.
