I first joined under a different nation in May of 2003. Since then, there are no NSers that seem to be left. No more Palestinian Empire, Tactical Grace, Spherical Objects, or any of the other old timers that I loved (or loathed) debating with. Now, Stephistan and Zeppistan are leaving. Where has everyone gone?

They've either gone to bigger and better things, or crawled into their respective gutters and died.

Do you remember Marathon? Beeker? Mezzaluna? Nanakaland?(is he still around?)

They come and go. Almost all of what I consider to be the old ones are gone, and many of the people who came in around the same time as me are leaving. Average shelf-life around here seems to be 1 year. Then it gets to you..

I don't think I even started posting on these forums until about september '03 meaning I missed that 'big summer' (even though its winter down here) where several exciting things supposidly took place. I think I appeared about the time Marathon got chucked, although I might be remembering that wrongly.

You're right, it might have been Beeker not Marathon. I knew it was someone along those lines, but I only really saw the aftermath so I wasn't sure. I was on another forum for a while that had both of them on it though.

Ah, I remember the old days...I wasn't very involved, mainly because the old forum rarely worked for me, but I was there.

Not to say, I am November '03. But, I found a lot of the change came after the beginning of 2004, with the arrival of people who tended to flame more than when I first came here.

Some of us have been around before, under different names. I couldn't tell you when, but a couple of years ago I had the nation of Western_shinma, and was quite active on the forums... for a while.

So do you miss the old NSers because the newbies flame more or don't have good topics?

I registered under a different name about October '03 or so, but then I left for several months. The forum didn't work much for me back then, so I only posted about 3 or 4 times. The only people I remember from back then are Parratoga and TT.

Yeah... I miss the older ones... they gave this place character. But when the mods started cracking down, it just wasn't as fun here anymore. Not saying that they shouldn't've done what they did, but thats what happened. I'm just glad I still haven't been deated or banned for more than a week. I miss AC... she was one of my first friends here. I still talk to Celestial Paranoia sometimes, and Neon Lights and I are good mates, but still... at least ppl like Seph and Dani and Cuneo are gone.

And I think I'm one of the oldest general regulars left. Def one of the oldest nations with over 3k posts.

i enlisted in this enjoyable mess back in march of '03, then had to leave for an extended period of time when the shit hit the fan... come back and yep... most everyone i ever RPed with is long gone... kinda wierd, but then again, i get to start all over with a whole new bunch of people and i find it still enjoyable

I had the last ever post on the old forums, which was here in General. At the time, I was in the high 70s on the old Great Post-Count List. My rank has probably dropped way below that now, as the Jolt forums just don't appeal to me as much, even if they are faster.

And let's be fair, the Third Age of NationStates was a lot more fun than this Fifth Age. :p

And I've been predicting the n00bageddon since the end of 2003, thinking that each coming Age will be the one where the n00bs conquer all. It hasn't ever really happened, although the signal-to-noise ratio in this forum has been steadily on the increase ever since it was chopped following the Ruling on the General Forum. I came from the Second Age. The Third Age came and went without the n00bageddon, as did the Fourth. The Fifth Age is now upon us; who can say what will come?

My rank has probably dropped way below that now, as the Jolt forums just don't appeal to me as much, even if they are faster.IMO NS on Jolt looks worse with its grey and white color scheme and spam-flavored emoticons (they just look like something you'd find in the spammy posts...I always use text smileys now).
And let's be fair, the Third Age of NationStates was a lot more fun than this Fifth Age. :pHow do you count the ages? :\

Haven't seen you post in an Age.I'm still here, but I got tired of no one to RP with (and it's too late for people to offer RPs, although I may go back to a previous NS-activity level sometime; and I know there are plenty of RPs...I've seen very few that interest me AND exist in the same world & era as Nianacio AND that Nianacio would actually get involved in). Nianacio is powerful enough it can get its way with one post :D, but that doesn't allow for anything to develop into something. :(
