If music isn't emotional than it's isn't music, it's noise. Thus, the 'emo' genre is essentially saying that all other forms of music lack emotion. It's like having a genre called "This is the best music, all other music is stupid" music. Oh, and a genre composed entirely of whining teens/tweens is pretty shallow.

All musci is subjective, people can like Emo if they want. I am studying to be a professional classical cellist, and I hate listening to emo, but one of the funnest bands I have played was Emoesque metal

There's no problem in venting frustrations, but there's a right and a wrong way to go about it. If you want people to empathise or at least understand you'd best not go about it by insulting people.

Certainly. People have the right to like music with no depth what-so-ever. This is America afterall. I personally think it reflects poorly on society though. Unfortunately, people like shallow music because they're shallow. I mean, there's a lot more to it than that, but fundamentally I would say that's pretty true.

How easy it is for someone to rap about killing people and being a badass gangster and shit and make millions. And I agree, Eminem is one of the badest motherfuckers on the scene these days. Religious nuts can go to hell for all I care.

... and man, I just can't get into techno that much. I don't dislike it, I just don't like it very much. I'm more about the human aspect of music. Take that away and it just seems to artificial. Accoustic techno I'd probably like, but I've never heard anything like that.
