It should be.
If James Bond says Scotland should be free, I think we should listen.

It is it's own nation, however it's not independant.
But it is a seperate nation, with it's own very distinct history and culture, and a lot of Scots would be offended by anyone suggesting otherwise.
Hence the rugby "Six Nations" tournament; the nations are England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and Italy. All nations.
It is a nation, so is Wales.

Technically it's not. Wales is a Principality. Sorry. :D

As is England, which, incidentally, has less independence than Scotland. The most independent part of the UK is London, as most decisions are made there, with little understanding of how people live in the rest of the country.
Please God give us a SouthWest Assembly.

Though Welsh is still a nationality.

Hmmm, devolution, a concept whereby Blair gave the Scots a Parliament then proceeded to legislate for them anyway....then Wales kicked up a fuss and got some half-arsed attempt at a NS forum...brilliant stuff.....

I know scotland is not its own nation but alot of people think it is.
It does not have a self determining government if thats what you mean. It can pass its own laws and it can vary taxes but it only has these powers because the westminster parliament allows it. Thats what a Unitary state is.
