Seriously, what's with the hate?

Sometimes I wonder how people can hate one another so much. I must admit I've seen my fair share of flaming threads and posts from trolling bozos like Jesussaves (who may be the same Jesussaves that used to frequant a chat room on WinMx called A Room For Heresy) and the things people say to one another absolutly floors me. I'm not sure if people are just assholes, or they bicker and flame just because there will be no consequences (this being the internet and all).

So, my challange to you is to say at least three things you like or respect about someone you are known to hate on this forum.

Good luck folks, I know this will be hard.

Good luck folks, I know this will be hard.

It sure will. First I need someone to tell me who I am known to hate. Then I can get started. :)

Hate is fun. It gives us something to do. Going through life without hating anyone is like watching sports and not rooting against your team's rival.

I know I'm an equal-opportunity hater. I hate everybody.

I don't know that I honestly hate anyone. I hate what some people are doing, but not the people who are doing it. I do hate certain institutions in this world that spread hate (KKK for example), but not the people within it who are merely being mislead.

On to the point of this thread...

I admire that some people are willing to die for their cause. This is something I personally am unable to do. I do, however, wish that they would choose a cause that would not oppress, harm, injure, maim or kill others.

I admire those people who believe so strongly in their faith. I just wish they wouldn't impose their faith on me.

I admire the strength of character some of my opponents in these forums have had. I believe them to be misguided, but not to be fools. Many of them have shown that they can argue a point with quite a bit of finesse, a quality quite rare to find.

I am a Misanthrope. I have no respect for humans (as a group or groups or group of groups or individual groups). There are many fine individuals but by in large humanity deserves all the Nuclear Weapons it has.

So I don't hate anybody in particular, just everybody in general.

"The misanthrope hates not man. The misanthrope hates idiocy, stupidity, self-righteousness, authoritarianism, selfishness, greed, ignorance, dishonesty, cant, and balderdash. All of these he hates rightfully. The problem is that all of these are shared by no other member of the animal kingdom but man. And the misanthrope does not entertain the vain hope that these traits will ever stop determining man's behavior." -- Misanthrope's Alphabet
