True, but talking to some Europeans ( and, sadly, a few Canadians ) has led me to believe that stupidity is like being overweight ... it knows no national boundaries, it's ugly, and it drastically slows you down.

i saw a real map like that once, made in the sixties. It was colour coded based on national governments. Blue for democracy, black for communism, and green for everyone else.

Yeah, as a conservative gay american, I assure you that many simple-minded people still have this view of the world, though I think the map here actually identifies more places than most people are aware of, and, no, if you did a survey of the average american, I'll wager that a majority would still view communism as our no. 1 enemy, not terrorism.

Regardless, the map is also fairly accurate, in many respects, though I don't think Canada is quite as good a friend as it used to be. Remember, the average American doesnt' give a damn about foreign policy. Why? Because we are ALL foreigners, and if we gave a damn about eurpoe, africa, asia or, even in the case of some smelly Siberians our natives left 15,000 years ago, we would have STAYED THERE ands done something about it. We left you to forget you, and really all wish we never had to think about your sorry asses again!
