Right now i am very annoyed about it..
Why is it that males have such big egos?
..argh..

I guess it's just that most of us want to amount to something... To show others that we're better than they think.

I'm not much like that, really. I just wanna get out of my house and do something. Being famous and extremely rich really isn't important, but it'd be nice.

Well, I have a big ego because I'm so great...but I imagine that's not the answer you're looking to hear, so I'll just say that not ALL guys are the same, and while some have egos not befitting their actual worth, not all guys are as such.

Actually, if you ask guys, oddly enough it turns out almost all of them are in the second category, and most of the others are depressed.

I suppose I've got a typical big male ego. I feel determined to become rich and famous, I enjoy big guns, big cigars, and fast cars. I dunno, I guess I just can't imagine myself being any other way. Personally I'm going to blame it on not being able to live up to unreasonable expectations of looking like the guys in the magazines, so I'm compensating in other ways. Well that's the excuse all the broads give for when they act nuts...

*Personally I've become completely desensitized to hearing bitch and ho, but broad sounds mysoginistic to me. Weird.

I think it's just that some of our specimen have to compensate for their lack of skills with... you know *cough*

I tend to laugh at people who go for big guns, big cigars and fast cars. Simply because I believe in efficiency, and none of those are efficient.

Big guns, well... no comment, huge bang, but that's about it.

A big cigar isn't a good cigar on default, it's just big, that's all.

Fast cars, well, they're fast, but what can you transport with those? Yourself and a laptop, that's about it. If you have kids, forget it. That's not what I'd call useful. It's just for showing off, just for looks, just... to brag. But it lacks depth. *picks cars for their usefulness* Chick-magnet? Uhmmm... no thanks, I'm loyal, I don't need some sluts drooling over my car.

Well, in my case, its because I'm a cut above anyone else in my classes as far as being able to translate poetry and literature like nobody's business, to the point where I have to hold my hand down and wait to make sure I don't stop anyone else from being called on, and I'm an English major in college, so that's a pretty big deal.

I'm also owning of thick hair which will never fall out (yay genetics), I will age slowly (yay genetics again), and I've had people cross the planet just in the hopes of getting me in bed (And I've been BEGGED for sex by two people now).

I'm also lucky enough to constantly attract cute, sweet, and most importantly -smart- bisexual young women (bisexual gals are -great-. A tad tomboyish on average, and you can both muse about eating out the same women), whom I get to lavish attention on constantly, which I find to be superior to all the angst so many people go through.

I'm also slightly stronger than average, have a strong immune system, a lucky background (Upper Middle Class with two parents is a nice place to grow up), all my body parts, and the will power to keep my bipolarism under control.

I'm ALSO extremely skilled at online RP seduction and flirtation, which gets me lots of attention when I bother to play a seducer (Haven't lately, it got annoying to constantly be dealing with horny people over the net... if it was in person, now, that I might stay interested in...).

Why shouldn't I have a big ego? My life is great, and I'm one of the luckier people on the planet.

Of course, I will say this in regards to gender.

Part of the reason my life is so great is that I avoid other males as much as possible. Most of them annoy the hell out of me.

I had the hopes of getting a life like that, until I started Home School.

That's not saying that I'd want a life like that. I don't think I could stand being full of myself. In fact, I know I couldn't.

Think of it like this: Its like we are applying for a job. The resume is going to point out the best things we've done, and the interview is making ourselves look like the best, most impressive canidate. Just the way the it works.

The big guns, big cigars, and fast cars are all symbols of power I guess. Even if they're hollow symbols, they're still symbols. Practicality is essential, but it's the anti-cool. The most practical gun on earth is the Glock 9mm, but is it as cool as an impractical Dirty Harry .44 magnum? A gray minivan is practical, is it as cool as a lime green vintage MG? Some little picolo cigar may be a great smoke, but what would Hannibal from the A-Team have been with out his gigantic cigar? Things that are cool should be impractical, silly but awesome. If practical was cool we'd all be ants driving around in hybrid cars, not smoking, not owning guns, living in vast gridded suburbs, and dreaming of nothing. It's our flagrant irrationality that makes things fun and interesting. the world might be a better place on the surface if everyone was practical, but underneath we'd all be dead inside.

Fast cars are for enjoyment, driving fast, violating the speed limit, going to track days and overall having fun. Whether its an E30 M3, a Mustang or a Ferrari F50. They are not for picking up women. Ha, women don't even notice fast cars in the first place.

Well, I'm perfectly honest. I hate lying, it makes me feel weak. I have two aspirations for the future, one become a Veterinarian, two become a Marine. They both are very likely, although the second is more likely. I went out with a girl for a while and the whole time I was very specific that I was only using her. I was frank about it, and to this day I still have no idea why she went out with me. I'm not the type to lie, but you'll believe me if you will, or you'll think I'm full of shit. Either way it doesn't affect me.

Just figured I'd share my story, don't know if it'll help you any, but take it for what it's worth.

That's not saying that I'd want a life like that. I don't think I could stand being full of myself. In fact, I know I couldn't.

The key to having a big ego is to not forget that you do have a number of faults. I have plenty. Part of why the word luck is in there. I'm not especially attractive. I get by more on intensity and attitude than anything else. I'm also have a horrible memory and a worse work ethic. And I am, despite my control, bipolar. I'm extremely screwed up.

Despite, life is good, and I can't feel anything but proud to bask in the smiles that I do.

As for home school.. egh. Here's hoping you manage to get in to a more wordly situation sooner than later. Even if you're a loner, its nice being able to observe humanity and learn about it first hand. Its how I ended up playing shrink for half of my friends.

Oh, I know. I personally don't get anything out of the whole thing. I do have a little S&M in me, a result of being raised around a dangerous environment (Construction+Horses+Cats+Heavy Yard Work), and from having very sharp teeth, but I'm actually quite an idealist about freedom.

But if a gal wants to be held down and told to do what she wants to do anyways, so she'll get an extra dose of pleasure...

I've appearantly helped a sub get off a few times online, and was praised for my style, so what the hey. Being a roleplayer may as well be useful, eh?

Well I knew you had a demented childhood. I was more betrayed when I was just out of childhood. now I would kill my mother, but any death I could give her would not be as slow and painfull as the death she is getting from breast cancer. And I have some painfull deaths for people planned out.

Honesty is my strenght, i'll leave all that stuff of ego end alpha male to the primates, it's where it should stay.
I know my strenght and limits, i'm below average in some areas and above in a few ones, but there's nothing to be proud of there, it's just your baggage.
The only thing is worth being proud of is of personal ackievments, that's where the real stuff comes about.

Scientifically speaking.....

Every Male in any species (of mammals...like cats, gorillas etc..) desires instictively to become the alpha male, ( the leader of the pack, and is thus able to mate with the most people and spread his genes the farthest)

Similarly, this instinct is present in males of the human species and hence the male ego ineffect acts as if to distinguish one's self as the Alpha Male. ;)

Because the majority of the population has no ability to judge the quality of another person and instead relies on that person's own appearant self-appraisal.

Something in the back of the average person's head seems to say "wow! that person must be pretty amazing if he can get through life being such a complete bastard, he doesn't even have to be polite to peole, let alone nice to them."

Those people who are insightful enough to find such behavior offensive and antagonizing are so few as to be statistically insignificant.

1 he like you enough to try
2 how sad he thinks he needs to.

I did all that stuff sub-consiously, my friends pointed it after several years. I would stand straighter and puff out my chest. When I stopped, one of my female friends said that I seemed easier to talk to, I guess I frightend her a bit instead of impressing her.

Still we (Hopefully) live and learn.

Actually I started off as a Mechanical Engineer major. I just realized quickly that it bored the hell out of me. And since I was going in originally to do Animatronics.. and CGI has pretty much taken over... not much to do. That and everything local is just designing lifts and such. Zzz.

I'd get in to science and all, but there's so many ethical issues these days (Drug companies, etc), that I said 'screw it', and went for something that doesn't rely on grants or big business. It helps that I don't really feel a need to be rich (Or have kids). I just want to live, enjoy life, and die with a smile.

Besides, I've dated people in training to be doctors... they've all been very frustrated with life, while my biggest frustration is that they're frustrated.

People with real egos don't try to impress people. That's people who WISH they had egos.

False confidence is not confidence.

Real confidence usually fascinates people. Not always in a good way, but it definately gets their attention. Creates Charisma. Has the same effect of being pleasantly humble, except that you're usually viewed as more interesting, while the humble person is simply very pleasant and warmly regarded.

The problem is that so few people have real, healthy egos, that few know what it looks like.

Ego leads to statements like "Eh, so I can kill you with one hand, whup de do. I'd much rather watch a Soap Opera."

Just means they're not dedicated enough :p Brother wanted to be a Pharmacist. Near top of his class, 97th precentile PCAT, would have easily gotten into any Pharmacy school. If he had wanted to be a Dentist or a Doctor, easily get into any Medical school. Content as anyone you could imagine. Not frustrated one bit.

cars like that are also fun you know! we have a normal family car, a second little car, and a kick ass convertable for the weekends or some sunny winters day! whats the prob with that?

i dont think i particually have a big ego, yes i know what im good at but then i also know what im crap at... and believe me there are many more things i cant do than i can :D i think men that lie about themselves are just trying to cover up what they view as their own failings! ... on the other hand some guys are just plain twats! :)

personally i'm trying to subscribe to Kirk Hammett's philosophy (guitarist from Metallica, multi-millionaire) of actively trying to suppress one's ego. if i can sit back and let other people fill their egos and get what they want (within limits of course) then my world will be more harmonious.
