Religion is fad!

Well it's better then being Nihilistic. -.-

naw seriously, there's nothing wrong with any of the religions, just because you don't understand it, or the teacher never explained it right, doesn't mean the whole religion is wrong. You must search deep in yourself talk to your local whatever...and find out something. Is this the right religion for me?

I myself was an Agnostic for 1 ..and a half year, then after going to some Jewish Classes and learning more about my religon.. (plus my heritage), That is when i discovered that Judiasm was the right religion...and that G-d did exist.

Yes i was Jewish at birth... but i never cared much, or understood anything until i willingly took those classes. Heck my father didn't even those things existed in my neighbourhood.

So if me being intolerant of Homosexuals, against Abortions and being a proud supporter of Bush makes me a religious fanatic...then i don't want to know what right is.

Well it does make you right wing.
But serioulsy, the evangelical right's support of Israel is couched in anti-semitic reasons. Here's their logic: according to some passage somewhere the apocalypse and the deaths of all jews can only happen when the jews rebuild the temple. For that to happen there must be a strong Israeli state capable of deconstructing the Dome of the Rock. Thus the right supports Israel in order to further the death of the jewish people. Just a thought. Bush may not be this evangelical, but it was their vote that got him into office.

Well, the latter 2 aren't too bad, but if you think that even if bigotry is wrong, you like it too much, then you are disgusting.

No, it's not a fad in that religion was originally science without the experiments. It has probably been present in all of human history, so it's not a fad. Religious fundamentalism is, however.

Perhaps some people don't like religion because the people who live/run it are the most retarded people to ever exist.

You might care to tone down with the insults, as it's against forum rules.
Then again, I'm not a moderator, so you can ignore me if you so choose. It's just a friendly reminder.

Worship Ahura Mazda, because he is the true creator and a Zoroastrian holy text says to.

Yasna 47

For his holy Spirit and for Best Thought, deed, and word, in accordance with Right Mazda Ahura with Dominion and Piety shall give us Welfare and Immortality.
The best (work) of this most holy Spirit he fulfills with the tongue through words of Good Thought, with work of his hands through the action of Piety, by virtue of this knowledge: he, even Mazda, is the Father of Right.
Thou art the holy Father of this Spirit, which has created for us the luck-bringing cattle, and for its pasture to give it peace (has created) Piety, when he had taken counsel, O Mazda, with Good Thought.
From this Spirit have Liars fallen away, O Mazda, but not the Righteous. Whether one is lord of little or of much, he is to show love to the righteous, but be ill unto the Liar.
And all the best things which by this Holy Spirit thou hast promised to the righteous, O Mazda Ahura, shall the Liar partake of them without thy will, who by his actions is on the side of Ill Thought?
Through this holy Spirit, Mazda Ahura, and through the Fire thou wilt give the division of good to the two parties, with support of Piety and Right. This verily will convert many who are ready to hear.

Your mom's a fad! :D

There's a guy at my school who tends to respond to everything with "your mom", and sometimes "last night!" gets tossed in too. Most of the time it is nonsensical, but occasionaly he makes sense, making it funnier.

IE: "Shit, we're screwed."
"Your mom was screwed last night!"

The manner by which this thread [to avoid a vague pronoun reference] has transformed into a grammar lesson is humorous [because big synonyms lead to better grades!]

i just find it funny, how people if people in the time of christ, such as the deciples (jesus didnt found christianity, the deciples based it on his teachings) started a cult, it could get acceptence, yet in this day and age, if you found one, you are immediatly singled out, and it is shut down.

As long as i dont get shot by fundamentalists or just by morons with guns, I would like to interject with my brief offerings of wisdom.

I'm not religious, but i am spiritual, there's a big difference.

however so that i can make most of you hate me forever, ill say what i believe.

I prefer my spirituality best expressed through nature and im extremely one-sided on this, so i tend to hate civilization in all its form, and prefer a hunter-gatherer life style. (seriously)

Why do you have a computer? Why are you on the internet? You are already hypocritical, unless that is just an ideal but you live pragmatically until the ideal can be reached, in which case you are pretty cool.

An educational message board. Oh, if only my English teacher could see this. Would I get bonus points for participation (but points taken off for using words with fewer than six syllables? Pretty soon our English will be so advanced, it will develop into a conscious being, throw off the chains of humanity, and take over the world!

Whoops. Actually I was hanging on to the closing parentheses for a more urgent, more absolutely-vital sort of need, but... Go ahead. They're awfully hard to come by--I should know!
