What in a name?

31
04-03-2005, 03:08
What images pop into your head when you read the names of members of this forum? Not what the person looks like but just random images.

For example: Mystic Mindinao makes me think of an episode of Victory At Sea. The narrator darkly intoning, "And now. . .massacre and Mindinao."

Eutrusca causes an image of old ruins in Italy with a soft breeze blowing and the sun setting.

Swimmingpool, umm, a swimmingpool in southern California.

Am I alone here with this way of think? I never picture the person, just a random image.

Sdaeriji strikes me as the name someone would give a little yappy dog. Not trying to be offensive here, that's just the first image that popped up.

Having just spend a bit of time browsing the NS player profiles and pictures threads, most of the names now have at least an age and nationality association. That pretty much overrides my imagination.

What's in a name?
I asked myself that very question...

31 for some reason invokes a soccer player. Which is weird, because I'm more of a racing fan and there you can't even see the drivers so you associate their number with them...don't know why...

There was an entity on here that had a name that immediately reminded me of the time in that wax museum where the humidity was a tad off and i was simultaneously thinking of the climax in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as well as some episode of ST:TNG, although it wasn't really fair to think of those episodes since the crafter did the best with what they had, and frankly those statues weren't really that dilapidated although my mind zoomed ahead with the entropy anyway, and i thought i might have had the patience to wait it out and see for myself but became a little disturbed that the ringfinger off the right hand was missing off of the statue closest to me (a guy who looked kinda like Frankie Valli and Robert Conrad mixed together), leaving the framestem sticking out, also leaving me to wonder if that finger got stuck somewhere else or if some intrepid individual pulled it off and chewed on it like you would a set of wax lips ... but i looked around instead not only not to find it on the poorly-kept carpet but as well NOT forced into the nostrils of any of the other statues there ... which also led me to think something a little more depraved about the ultimate destination of that finger until i heard a shuffling a few feet behind me as i was sprawled out on the floor in my examination of the immediate vincinity ... when i turned i didn't see anyone but did notice a camera, so i composed myself and wandered out into the gift shoppe thinking they might sell replicas of the missing finger as souvenirs or swizzle sticks or something. I promptly got distracted with a bottle of Rondo cola and kinda sugar-buzzed the whole thing away ....
until i saw this entity's name, which for the life of me i can't remember now, dammit.
Anyone else get that impression?

Bottle-I picture an antique bottle with a note in it floating in the ocean.

Adrian Barbeau Bot makes me think of Barbie Dolls.

31 makes me think of a 31 year old guy who is half man, half machine.

Eichen reminds me of a magical creature who lives in the forrest.

Cog reminds me of a machine that had huge cogs inside of it...like some massive clock.

Myrth reminds me of earth or soil.

Keruvalia reminds me of a chivalras knight who rides up on a horse and whisks me away to a really fun theme park.

Sanctaphrax makes me think of algebra equations

Cannot think of a name reminds me of me when I first wake up or when my ADD is acting up.

Prosphia makes me think of a multi vitamin.

Chicken Pi makes me think of chicken pot pie except with icing on it.

Lascivious Maximus makes me think of the movie Gladiator. Of course, he and I are actors in this version and he carries a big sword and I wear a toga. We end up together at the end of the movie.

Pure Metal makes me think of the mercury inside a thermometer.

gosh...so many more.....

The Blarney Stone (by Ween)

Get off my ass you wee bitty fuck
If I pull out the claymore you’re shit outta luck
Who’s that girl, that pretty young thing
After I fuck her she’ll get up and sing

Aye aye aye -- sharpen your boot, and bludgeon your eye
Aye aye aye -- the blarney stone brings a tear to me eye

Down to the pub for a two shilling ale
The bread on the counter is going stale
If I don’t get some fresh bread soon
Gonna punch you in your face and bark at the moon

Aye aye aye -- sharpen your boot, and bludgeon your eye
Aye aye aye -- the blarney stone brings a tear to me eye

Ain’t got no girl ’cuz I haven’t the time
Got too many other things on me mind
Patty was nice she was pale and cute
But I threw her away like an old piece of fruit

Aye aye aye -- sharpen your boot, and bludgeon your eye
Aye aye aye -- the blarney stone brings a tear to me eye

Got ooze in my pores my feet are all wet
Got mold in my ears but I ain’t dead yet
Got stones in me bladder got a crack in me head
When patty starts cryin’ this is what I said

Aye aye aye -- sharpen your boot, and bludgeon your eye
Aye aye aye -- the blarney stone brings a tear to me eye
