This topic is pretty self-explanatory, I'd like to know what your custom flags mean. Oftentimes they're just pretty pictures, but I'm sure for some of you they represent something more than nice colors. Post your flag and then give us a little lesson.

I'll go first.

Most people think my flag represents Power or Violence or some other such thing, but it's actually about Peace. It's about containing the hatred and violence that fills the hearts of the people.

The lightning (Strength, anger, violence, etc.) is held firmly within the grip of the hand (the Klonor government) and kept from harming others.

It's the scales of justice within a stylized eye sort of thing. This was made back when I ran Amyst as an authoritarian nation.

It's the flag of England... St. So-and-So's Cross. I think it's the Cross of Saint Peter maybe. 500 years ago i'd have been executed for not knowing that. lmao.

mine is pretty simple. I love Carthage, and since city-states of that time didn't have flags, I stole it from Rome (the game) , and then made the background black instead of white. I added a diamond in the top to make it look a little more full. That's it, really.

The Republic of Eutrusca is composed almost entirely of refugees from dictatorships and rogue nations. As such, freedom, safety and the well-being of our people are of paramount importance. Our flag represents this.

The sword represents the willingness of our people to use military force both to defend our own freedom and to take whatever actions are necessary to extend freedom to the oppressed people of other nations. The phoenix represents the rejuvenating power of our Nation, and the resurgence of our people from their former oppressed condition. The cornucopia represents our determination to guarantee the highest possible standard of living for all Eutruscans.

The motto on our flag, "Ad augusta per angusta," means, "To exalted places by narrow roads." This is the goal of all Eutrusca ... to reach the highest possible goals for both our people as individuals and for our Nation as a whole, with the recognition that this will often be a difficult task.

My current flag doesn't really mean anything other than looking cool. However, it has evolved and changed many times in the past. I can't find a copy of my first ever flag, but it was a dark blue horizontal stripe with a stylised brain in the middle, since I originally intended this nation to be a purely scientific one (hence the name "The Mindset.")

Then, I ICly became pacifist, and began dedicating all funding towards medical breakthroughs and compulsory eugenics programs:

The hammer and sickle shows our economic environment. The black background and red words are to show the anarchist nature of the founders of the nation.

My nic on miscellaneous boards is "ShaddowKat" or permutations there of. I stumbed across an old pic of a cat I used to have, edited it somewhat and poof.. .there it was.

Also use it as an avatar on one or two of the boards I frequent as well. Unfortunately, couldn't get it to look quite right for some of the other ones...

My flag is a Canadian flag painted orange and green as opposed to red and white to represent the New Democratic Party, a political party with social democratic or democratic socialist leanings.

Thank you. :) It took a bit of playing to get it to look balanced, but I think it came out pretty decently.

My nation originally was somewhat similar to the government of 1984. My only two RP posts here on NS involved brief solos of criminals being "erased" so that all was left of their existence was an "erasure number" and an issue of a quarantine and various rationings.

My flag represents my IRL and IC eternal, unconditional, unrepentant, undying hatred of cockroaches and affiliated pests.

My flag means diddly squat. I am underconfident and so every flag I designed I deem ed crap and erased. In the end I went with the pansy sun flag. The old imperial flag was much better.

The device on Brianetics' flag, which is also our national seal, represents the national motto. Behind it, the colors: grey representing the pragmatism which guides the state; green, the person of our Fearless Leader and his earthly roots; purple, his divine nobility.

Many wars must be fought against many peoples to achieve this, but the real war we're fighting is the war to end individualism: the worst evil of all.

Anyway, mine is just the typical Pirate Flag

Mine is based on the Eureka flag, which was first used in an Australian miners revolt in the 19th century. It has come to be a symbol of the left (and unfortunately, far right) among Australian culture. Its use is particularly prominent among blue-collar trade unions.

I changed the colours from a white cross on a blue background to the red and black of libertarian communism/syndicalism, and threw in a hammer and sickle. :p

My flag is called the angel moon, and is compleatly not mine but it fits so meh. If you look at it long enought you can see why it's called what it is.

My flag represents my two favorite colors. In Manawskistan the flag is simply an object, devoid of any purpose beyond something to make sure what country you are in. Also, it makes it a lot easier to identify Manawskistani assets when abroad.
