Anyone Here Wear Vans Shoes?

A interesting thing I've noticed about Vans skate shoes, brought to my attention by my friends. The sole of some of their shoes, has Star of Davids on the bottom, and in the middle of them, the word VANS. If you take a Hebrew-English keyboard.

V=ה
A=ש
N=מ
S=ד
Hashmed, or in English "exterminate". This seems...... interesting. Any thoughts?

I think so too, but assuming it is. Stars of David on the soles is a bit.... not nice. And even assuming they choose to, selling them in Israel is really not nice.

Don't know what you are talking about. My VANS don't have any star. They are more than 1 year old though.

My current 'all purpose' (IE anything that doesn't involve running) shoes are globes, but I have an old pair of Vans somewhere. I doubt the sole is in any decent condition though.

Vans have always been famous amongst skaters. One of the things that made them so good was that they had the grippiest soles out there due to the waffle pattern that they generally featured. That parts of this can resemble a Star of David is just coincidence, it's part of a repeating geometric pattern...

eg: 1992 Vans Half Cabs

and more modern ones too

This type of sole has been in use by Vans for decades, do you really think that nobody would have said anything by now if it were genuinely anti-semitic. Some people just want to see anti-semitism everywhere it seems. :(

I have a pair of Vans Fargo snowboard boots, but there is no star to be found on them. (Ooooh! I lubs my Vans!!) (http://spm.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p1465902reg.jpg)

My regular skate shoes are: One pair black with neon pink soled Circas (Clicky! Clicky! PINK!!!) (http://www.breakcamp.com/Shopping/userImages/blk%20pin_0.jpg)
. One pair tan with gum soled Globes(Clicky Clicky!) (http://www.flipped24.co.uk/shop/pages/assets/images/shoes/globe/mumford.jpg)

I don't think there is reference to anything other than shoes on either... although, the black/pink Circas have skulls on the sides - but you can barely see them, they happen to be sort of 'ghosted' on. :)

Not quite ... Hebrew is read right to left.

VANS typed on the keyboard would come out at the equivalent SNAV or, in the Hebrew exchange DMSH, not HSMD.

I was wondering who'd come up with that. Congrats Keruvalia.

I don't agree. I think if you translate something you go according to the language translated: so while you write in Hebrew from right to left, you translate from left to right. You'd still get 'hashmed' then, but I do think it's a coincidence. They should be given the benifit of the doubt.

Dude, Vans is run by a corporation. So no duh they're controlled by the Illuminati, like all corporations, and the Illuminati are widely known to be anti-Semitic.

So there you have it. That's your explanation right there Sanc!

Oh, that's nothing! You haven't yet heard about McDonalds being an Illuminati institute of indoctrination, conversion, and punishment!

Well, that's just such an obvious case it needn't be explained. They didn't even bother to cover anything up!

I mean, that smiley face just oozes pure evil.

At what point did I mention a conspiracy theory? I just thought it was coincidental is all. But I accept the award anyway, because my trophy cabinet is a bit small at the moment.

I have Vans, because I skateboard like veryday, but right now since it's winter, I skate in my basement. My friend aslo has them, because that's like th only shoe he'll wear. I'll check mine and if it's not on their ill check his. That is pretty interesting.
