I would be ecstatic because:
A. The bigotted government had obviously decided to allow my spouse and I to adopt and
B. I was gonna be a grandaddy.
Mind you, I would prefer it to be within wedlock or a long term relationship and some chatisement would be in order. Ah who am I kidding, I'd just be happy and help my son do the right thing.

In an aside, my aunt was considering adopting, but she figured the government wouldn't let her because she's single. Ugh.. She DID play a significant role in raising 4 of her nieces/nephews...
