I don't mean ear-bleeding Britney Spears type evil.

I was just listening to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and thought for a second on how awesomely cool it is. So what do you think? :D

Honestly, I like Cradle of Filth, but think they try too hard to be eeeevil. Dimmu Borgir did a pretty good job on the song 'Fear and Wonder'. For some reason I find Agalloch's 'Kneel to the Cross' particularly evil sounding, even sans growling vocals. Most bands that try to come off as evil seem like they're trying too hard though, so it rarely sounds authentic.

edit: I just remembered Rotting Christ's 'Lucifer Over London,' that song's pretty evil sounding

There's no questioning it, White Zombie - Hands of Death (Burn, Baby Burn). With background tracks of large groups of people yelling "HAIL SATAN!!" and other Nazi-esque stuff, along with the lyrics of the song itself...every time I hear that song I feel the compelling need to wash myself.

Aye, often "evil" songs just sound cheesy to the point where they get ruined.

Meh, it doesn't really come across to me as "evil", it seemed more "mournful".

Black Seeds of Vengeance, by Nile.

Ehh, that vocal style doesn't do "Evil" for me.

This is a very easy question for me. The song "Black Sabbath" as recorded by Type O Negative, available on the "Nativity in Black" Black Sabbath tribute album. The original was good, but that cover creeped me out when I first listened to it. There's also a version with alternate lyrics on Type O's The Least Worst Of that's even eviler (the satanic perspective).

I've never heard anything that comes close. I like my thrash metal, but I wouldn't call it evil. The main song from Phantom of the Opera sounds more evil than a Pantera song, (except mabye "Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills") And bands like Cradle of Filth just sound silly to me.

3. "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" -- Dimmu Borgir
4. "Black Sabbath" -- Black Sabbath
5. "Contagion" -- The Black Dahlia Murder

Necrolust
Your stinking corpse I desire
Nothing can take me higher
Fucking you till your bones break
Another one has to die
Cum dripping from my dick
Fucking you to the core
Can't take this anymore
My brain is driving me insane
Necrolust
Eating the flesh of a thousand corpses
Bloodsucking cuntless nuns
Her guts were boiling out of her butt
Eating her slimy **** as I hold her tits

I stand corrected. So there's two songs about necrophillia. How charming.

Big Black did a particularly evil song called 'Jordan, Minnesota', about child abuse. And TOOL's 'Prison Sex' is also particularly vile if you listen to the lyrics. "I have found some temporary sanity with this blood shit and cum on my hands!"

For true evil, you have to turn to gore metal.
I'd probably get a warning for posting Cannibal Corpse lyrics here, but some of the evilest of their songs are "Entrails Ripped from a Virgin's ****" and "Addicted to Vaginal Skin" off of Tomb of the Mutilated, "Butchered at Birth" and "Meat Hook Sodomy" off Butchered At Birth, and "Sanded Faceless", "When Death Replaces Life", and "Drowning in Viscera" off Gore Obsesseed.

yeah, you are right. Mayhem is more sic then real evil.

But most metal is sic in stead of evil.

Even more evil, at least in my mind, is "Du riechst so gut" off of Herzeleid. The video makes it 10x as creepy. Lyrics (in German, as well as the English translation) (http://herzeleid.com/en/lyrics/herzeleid#du_riechst_so_gut)

I know I'm going to get flamed to Hell and back for this because everybody hates Atreyu, but "Bleeding Mascara" sounds vaguely evil. Not evil enough, though. The lyrics don't really capture it all, you have to hear it with the guitar riff.
:(
A wraith with an angel’s body.
A demon with a smile of gold.
You soul-sucker.
I won’t become like you.
A killer with the perfect weapons,
crystal eyes and a heart of coal.
You soul-sucker.
I won’t lose myself in you.

Look how pretty she is, when she falls down.
Now there’s no beauty in bleeding mascara. Her lips are quivering
like a withering rose, she’s back again.

What the fuck do you think love means?
It’s much more than words and more than feelings
sucking me dry. Is my marrow that sweet?
Your dead lovers have left a trail of broken hearts and misspent hopes.
Sucking them dry. Does their marrow taste of
sweetness, Sweetness? I hope you choke.

Look how pretty she is, when she falls down.
Now there’s no beauty in bleeding mascara. Her lips are quivering
like a withering rose, she’s back again, shes back a, shes back again shes back

The most Evil music in the world is written by Phillip Glass.

If that doesn't make you want to kill everything around you from shear sonic stress-induced psychosis, I don't know what will.
You clearly havent heard much merzbow

Frankly I think "Aura" from the dot.hack soundtrack (sung by SEESAW) is rather creepy...the song goes:
If you are near to the dark
I will tell you 'bout the sun
you are here
no escape
from my visions of the world
you will cry all alone
but that does not mean a thing to me

Knowing the song
I will sing
'till the darkness comes to sleep
come to me
I will tell 'bout the secret of the sun
it's in you, not in me
but that does not mean a thing to you

The sun is in your eyes
the sun is in your ears
I hope you'll see the sun
someday in the darkness

The sun is in your eyes
the sun is in your ears
you'll never see the sun
ever in the darkness

That's it. It's the theme of this little girl who (to me atleast) seems not to be all that evil. But if morganna does this...blah blah blah...don't make me tell you the entire story.

Okay if I was going for a dark song, I'd say Terrible Lie by NIN wins.

However, the all time darkest song is "I Put A Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Listen to the lyrics, carefully. The ultimate creepy stalker song.

Ashe Zu Ashe (sp?) by Rammstein.

Other than that, something by Brujeria? I dunno, my bf listens to them and their lyrics are just charming... :p
