I just saw Slipknot's live set on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and I am thoroughly unimpressed. As well as completely failing to be spooky or anything like it seemed they were attempting to be, they had one guy who was just not doing anything for most of the song. He seemed to be a scratch DJ or something, but for half the song he just stodd there and headbanged.

I am underwhelmed.

Naturally. I mean, they're what Korn or Limp Bizkit is to good metal. If you want real death metal, you need to dig up some Opeth. Still Life is my personal favourite album.

Yep, saw them earlier this year and they were crap.

Although it was amusing watching little kids walk out of the moshpit holding eachother in agony after being thrown and bashed around everywhere, and hearing the singer go "WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!"

Very befitting of their image, no?

Absolutely. They're not particularly impressive musicians, but they're VERY talented song writers.

I had the same opinion of Dying Fetus as you do about Slipknot after seeing Dying Fetus open for Gwar. They weren't bad, but ultimately forgetable.

If you're talking about Slipknot I disagree with them being talented sonwriters; if you're talking about Opeth, I disagree with them being unimpressive musicians :p
