So what do you think? What is suitable punishement for tax evasion? (Not the same as tax avoidance) What is the morality of tax evasion? Is a little ok? If so, when is it too much? Should all tax evaders be punished the same? Should they not be punished at all?

This is way over the top for tax evasion. I will say that there are so many people that do it. Even with a little bit here and there. Its absolutely amazing the percentage of people that actually will evade taxes. Now business owners and self employed will constitute your biggest chuck of tax dodgers. The reason is there are massive amount of loopholes for a business owner compared to a W2 earner. But this is the most I have heard on a single individual.

Punish tax evasion by making the evader pay what ever he owes to the government. I don't mean over time, I mean right up front. If he can't do that then make him work off the debt by washing dishes in the white house or something.

Punish it by doubling the tax at least. Forcing them to pay what they owe makes tax evasion a non-risky venture. Just make sure you have the money in case you are caught.

200 million dollars worth of dish washing! How about bailing out the social security system for a year or two instead.
