How many do yuo have and what do you use them for?

I have 9 Puppet Nations, and I use them to enhance my Region (The UDSR).

They're all getting large, but my largest is my true nation, Potaria. Almost 150 million citizens!

I'm now at three: One is a country I keep "in reserve" for some reason. I think I want to keep it if I plan to go into FT (future tech). Another is the colony/country I'm using as a sports RP alternative to Sarzonia and I'm going to use it for ground combat lessons without using Sarzonia's army.

Another puppet will be my "heel country" where I try out being a despotic ruler.

Of course, one other reason I am thinking of using all of these is I have way more ideas for ship designs than the Portland Iron Works could likely handle. :p

Two, to enhance my army.

Just one, and its due to economic dependence. Wasn't meant to be one either, kinda happened by accident. But they get all their basic rights and free elections.

I have two puppets. They're just their for the sake of having them. I haven't posted on either of them in several months. All serious actions, including UN-related activities, happen with Alomogordo.

I have around 8 for invading! hehe

Well, I have:

1. Upper Xen- my main nation. It is my benevolent, unique asian-halflife mix nation. Represents my more moderate beliefs. However, it differs in certain ways (i.e. environment, etc.).

2. The Real ALM. My terrorist alter ego. Dedicated to terrorizing in the name of anime, this terror group-cum-aspiring-Hapsburg-style-shadow-empire is my dark side.

3. Committee of Vigilance. A nation I made up a while back as part of an RP I did, and created after I saw Wild West Tech on the History Channel and thought "This would be a nice name for a mercenary faction." It was a mercenary army dedicated to "law and order" made of a mix between the RAND Corporation and mercenary groups like Executive Outcomes. After the RALM came, I kinda let it aside.

4. Dornalia. Created as a placeholder for my old region. Originally another moderntech nation (with Boer anime elves-what was I thinking? :headbang: ) to be used in conjunction with UX for its history (it was to be a client state of sorts), it got too complicated.....and I just let it be.

Depends on how you define puppets. If you mean nations affiliated with Demonic Gophers I only have one, which I use as my representative in another region.

If, in the other hand, you mean nations under the control of the player, even if they have nothing to do with this one...

Well, I won't tell you the exact number, but I use one of them to keep track of all the others. Its dossier is three pages long.

As for the reasons I have them, the biggest is simply that I like designing settings. I use many of them to expand my options for RPs. Some of them are involved in various regional activities. I have one in the UN, and a spy or few.

I keep two to enhance my army.

They are Kutou-koku, which is a mere few million smaller than us, and we're over 3 billion, and Farflorin, which is about 2.4-2.5 billion.

I keep an island chain as imperial territory.

They are the Soviet Islands: Soviet Republikans, Soviet Demokrats and Soviet Canucks.

Break offs and remains from the now-dead territory of Dor Cirion, Aero Dynamik and Meekinos are just there...

Just the one. Left over from the nation I sent to the UN Delegates region. ;)

I have one, signed it up a few days ago. It's mainly an experiment to see what happens if I follow the basic rules of a place in a book I'm reading (and have read 4 times before). The place is Habitat Tranquility, the book(s) are the Night's Dawn trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton, and I'm basically thinking 'what would Ione do?' (Ione Saldana is the person in charge).

Two. Though I don't RP. One of them was meant to be a utopia - world benchmark for civil rights and political freedoms, and a massive economy. And I managed it, then got bored, so standards slipped, and I'm now having to work it back up. The other, I'm trying to get in every UN category. It's taking time...a lot of time.

Flaming Ninja Death- I was a young nation, excited about trying out this whole puppet thing. I have since tried to give it to a friend, but he was gonna let it die so I saved it. I think the motto reflects my taking it back, although I might have changed to what I originally made it.

Deathwitharifle-I was gonna use this as a future tech nation for RP'ing, but just never used it. It's named for my screenname in just about everything

The Plutonian Empire: Future tech, plans on benevolent domination of the universe. Every last asteroid of it.

Belle Hades: The outermost planet of Deneb, the UPPE's current home, twice the size of Earth, and is THE stormiest planet in the Milky, with periods of relative "calm", and periods of unimaginably huge storm systems. BH has two companions, both about the same size as Earth, both desert worlds. Although BH is a state in the Plutonian Empire the same way as Iowa is a state of the USA, the Empire recognized their right to completely govern themselves independently, so it is some sort of a nation-state. (Gee, I wonder what THAT rhymes with! :D )

The Piscean Empire: Think of those "Zoras" from "Zelda: Ocarina of Time". Now, imagine their being extensions of the tailbone, instead of extensions of their head. Extremely xenophobic. Virtually unlimited nuclear power (waiting to get a certain population before I officially introduce it.

Denver City: The city I was born in, and it's pretty much the "cowboy nation". This nation joined the UN in order to help defend the region it's in.

Day After Tomorrow: Uber-environmentalists. Hopefully someday, THIS nation may have the Best Weather. :)

Dirdel and Binary: I'm hoping to introduce this double-planet-nation very soon. ;)

Nuke Factories: The name I used for one of the UPPE's cities in Civilization II: Multiplayer Gold Edition, it does what it's name suggests: it makes nuclear weapons for the Empire.

I use my secondary nations to enhance my region. There are all separate characters and have no links to my primary nation.

;) sounds like my purpose for Farflorin, only at a regional level.

I use my puppets mainly as a place to stick military bases.

I made a puppet, but they declared war on me, so now I've got to invade and install a puppet government.

Me, I have none because I don't RP or anything (even though that's not allowed, but whatever). I used to have a couple, but they died (by my will).
