This was the first two paragraphs of an article on BMW-

BMW is preparing to enter the market for car-style people carriers, the firm's chief has told BBC News.

Speaking at a BMW event ahead of the Geneva motor show, Helmut Panke predicted demand for such crossover vehicles would soar in Europe.
Wha-huh? "Car style people carriers?" Uh, c-cars? What the hell? In the article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4306971.stm) he cites the Integra as the best example, so does I guess he means sports coupe, but then what the hell is the M3 or the new 1 series or the Mini?

Confus-ed.

a people carrier that looks like a car

so instead of a renault espace or something (which looks like an MPV) you would have a 7 seater with a bit of space that looks almost like an estate car

I thought that maybe, perhaps like the Dodge Magnum (http://www.dodge.com/magnum/), but then why is the Integra a good example?

i dont think he means a coupe, and that Dodge is almost there i think...VW were talking about doing one a while ago, it was the size of a 5-series, but with almost the interior space of an MPV, without the raised driving position

at least, i think thats more or less what he means

It's really the Integra comparison that is throwing me for a loop, since I've always thought that was a sports coupe, or sports hatch. Which they have the M3.

On a side note, I don't normally subscribe to the whole car/penis thing but the Magnum-that thug is pretty much a phallus...

the article later says
While in the US drivers tend to prefer sports utility vehicles (SUVs), such as the BMW X5 and its sibling X3, in Europe demand for crossover vehicles is likely to be considerable, Mr Panke said.
which is what led me to believe he meant an estate/SUV crossover

Makes the most sense, I guess. I was going to look for what the Integra looks like today, but they replaced it with the RSX a year or so ago...dammit...

Ah, I have three years to forget I even came across this article to find out exactly what he means...

Thank you.

i think they mean the megane scenic or the almera tino. Pretty carlike but with foldy spinny roundy seats and so on.
