Assumed Details.

I'm on my way to work in a raging snow storm. :(

But before I go, here's something I want to leave you with. We take certain details in life for granted. Let me give you an example.

I went to this restaurant that requred a jacket and a tie. Unfortunately, they required more than just that. I showed up wearing just a jacket and tie. They weren't very happy with my lack of other attire.

I think that if you're going to require specific clothing, you should make a complete list. Don't leave other details open to interpretation. :p

Like when an ice cream place says "no shirt, no shoes, no service". They say nothing about pants. Or underwear.

So Confuzing...Ahhhhhhhhhh!

I was once in Target, and I passed by the jewelry counter, which had mirrors set up. I assumed that these mirrors were free to use for any purpose I had in mind, since there was no note to indicate otherwise. So I set to using one mirror to examine my teeth - I had just had lunch so I had some stuff to pick out.

Eventually an employee came over and asked "Uh, can I help you?" I replied with, "No thanks, I'm just browsing." while continuing to pick at that stubborn food between my teeth. It was then that she asked me to please browse elsewhere.

There should be a sign saying that I can't use the mirrors to check for food in my teeth. :(

Yeah, I mean how was I supposed to know that there are no fairies in fairy cakes? No dogs in dog food? No cats in cat food? :gundge:

Most instruction manuals assume either a)that you are a cryptographer capable of deciphering mangled english, blurred, impossibly diagrams, and 5000 page manuals written in size 5 font or b)in third grade. Sad...

They tend to leave out one thing that would make them crystal clear: Verbs. :)

I just think that if someone is going to have specific standards, then they shouldn't at the same time make assumptions.

Because there will always be people like me who think it's entertaining to deliberately shatter them. :)
