I know we have a few out here. Now, there is a friend of mine who is a US citizen because of 8 U.S.C. 1431 Sec. 320*, and for some reason thinks (and has been told by her parents) that once she reaches 18 she will no longer be a citizen and will have to apply for citizenship herself. Anyone smart who can say if this is correct or not?

(She was born in china to two immigrants who were accepted for citizenship...5 years ago, if you need any more details I can tell you)

She will be a citizen still. If she had dual citizenship she would have to apply for citizenship to one of the countries by 18

Thought as much. Anything that really says that so I can show her that she can stop worrying?

No, that's just my assumption, you mgiht actually want to consult a law sutdent. I know the latter of what I said to be true and I assume the former to be true based on the fact all of those conditions have been fulfilled which states she "becomes a US citizen when" they are
