the funniest man alive..... Bill Bailey!!

Pure Metal

this thread may sink quicker than a wet fart, but any Bill Bailey fans out there? i know of a couple...

FYI...

Bill Bailey is a British comedian, mixing hilariously weird stand-up with pure (comic) musical genius to produce.... comedy excellence :)

he's worked on many projects, most notably (for me) the long running BBC2 comedy music quiz 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks', his own stand up act (the Bewilderness tour DVD is brilliant), a Channel 4 comedy called "Black Books", and a small - but essential - part in Spaced.

hopefully someone will read this thread and discover the magic of Bill for themselves...

His comedy music is genius, especially 'I will not look at titties for a year', but I wouldnt say he was the funniest man alive (certainly not as good at stand-up as Ross Noble while Dylan Moran [I think thats how you spell it] was better in Black books but only by a wisker) largly as he repeats his material a lot; compare Bewilderness and Part-troll and you see a lot of repition, such as his views on Fox-hunting. I realise that comedy isnt like music where you can dissapear for a couple of years then return but even so. That said he is a musical comedy genius and while he is not as funny as some I'd rather see him live just for the pyrotechnics and songs.

That's fine :) I just find him hilarious, although I'll admit that Sexie was a bit poor. Dress to Kill and Unrepeatable are the way to go.
I should watch more Bill Bailey, I guess. I haven't seen much, hence my underappreciation.

Bill Bailey is a genius.

I saw one of his full stand up routines on paramount 2, as well as some sections on Comedy store and the like.

Paramount 2 always has some great comedian somewhere. I need to go see one of them live though......

Not sure... I thought he was known in the US as well, but that might just be me because I don't know *that* much about him.
Do you not mind that Eddie makes fun of American's knowledge of history?
"You know your own history, yeh? *shakes head* You don't know WHO HE IS, do you? You're sitting there going "what is this, the French-banana war, what?"" :D Mind you, he does make fun of England too...

Of course I don't mind. It's all in good fun. Besides, I am a history student at college, so I know all too well what the average American doesn't know about history.

Mark had just told the team who was meant to answer what the answer was, and then he said "forget it" and passed it over, and Bill just went "huh?"

was just the look of confusion on his face, and the fact that he hadnt been paying any attention whatsoever...
