I was wondering if anyone out there has some good sites where others can download or watch streaming video of Anime.

Also, what titles do you suggest?

What ones should we stay away from?

I highly suggest just about all of Mobile Suit Gundam - totally revolutionized the mecha (giant robot) anime genre..... see www.gundamofficial.com for info on each series, mecha, etc. It's an excellent military sci-fi.

Each Gundam series usually takes a look at war, and then also some sort of social issue (advancing technology, genetic engineering, gov't oppression, etc) depending on the specific series.

Gundam SEED, a Gundam series that takes a look at the effects of genetic modification of humans, currently airs on Cartoon Network - although there are only 7 episodes left, I still suggest watching it.

But stay away from G Gundam - it was a total dishonor to Gundam.

I'd recommend Naruto, though I'm not sure where you can find it online, now that it's been liscensed...

And depending on certain things, you'd probably want to avoid Gravitation.

Trigun — Influenced my views on violence
Neon Genesis Evangelion — Distributing the secrets of Jewish esoterism to the masses, though I'm not sure how Anno acquired them.

Such a depository of anime does not exist. You'll find fansubs only on p2p servers.

What's Chutullu mean?

What's Chutullu mean?Chuthullu is a reference to HP Lovecraft's work. the stories are Dark and he is, IMHO, better than Stephen King. in the world of Chutullu, if you were lucky, you died. If not, you go insane, then die... the truly unlucky ones just go insane. and there are alot of unlucky people in that world.

Get Neon Genesis Evangelion and worship.
Yep, NGE is the best choice.

Other good ones:
Escaflowne (subbed version, the dubbed got raped in the ass then massacred (original was 27 episodes, dub is 9).
Trigun (either or, really good, even if the art isn't terribly impressive)
Hellsing (if you're a horror fan, or like constant violence, this is for you, 13 episodes of death, destruction and freakiness)
Full Metal Alchemist (just plain cool)

I would say Serial Experiments Lain as well, but I haven't got a hold of any of the episodes, so I'll hold judgement.

As for episodes, P2P networks. My sister has downloaded about 40 Inu Yasha episodes off the P2P's. http://www.animecrave.com/ is also a good one.

The Only Gundum I like is Gundum Wing

Hi

I'm relatively new to Anime, and this post is probably mostly pointless or irelevant, but Anime series I have seen and enjoyed include:

Stellvia (aka Stellvia of the Universe... sci-fi set a few hundred years in the future, space academy, end of the world(?) stuff)

Full Metal Alchemist (still only seem the first 14 eps, damnit)

Planetes (mid-21st century space-garbage collectors, part comedy part serious, surprisingly good)

Scrapped Princess (kinda fantasy)

Louis the Rune Soldier (amusing light fantasy, D&D inspired)

Read or Die (OVA, and seen some of the series; OVA is about a woman with the ability to use paper as a devastating weapon and her work for the British Library as they attempt to save the world from an evil madman, hehe)

Last Exile (currently watching)

Twin Spica (another space academy thing, kinda depressing in a way)

.Hack (mysterious goings-on in a near-future online RPG)

Fafner in the Azue (aka Sokyou no Fafner) - mecha, truly strange aliens, weird crap...

That list is in no particular order. The ones I enjoyed the most were probably Stellvia, and Planetes, (but then I've been a sci-fi nut far longer than I've been watching anime :) ) and Scrapped Princess.

Any 'good' sites that you can download anime from? Its exceedingly unlikely you'll find one. If you want, find Fan-subbing sites and you might get lucky sniffing around there for links. I doubt it.

Peer to Peer networks like Kazaa and WinMX might be worth looking into. I still break the rules a lot myself, but if you have money; you really should buy the series you want to watch. It hurts us to watch the pirated stuff. (I'm very much the hypocrite btw, but the message still stands)

As to your series to watch or not watch? Depends entirely on personal prefrence.

But here are the names of some that I have enjoyed over the years...

Vandread, Hellsing, His and Hers Circumstances, Noir, Chobits, Onegai Teacher, Fruits Basket, Naruto, Ruroni Kenshin, Agent Soma, Read or Die OVA, Escaflowne (movie), Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex,

**Insert Breathing space here**

Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Neon Genisis Evangelion, Letters from a distant Star, Full Metal Panic, Haibane Renmei, Rah Xephon, Berserk, Gundam MS08th team, Gundam Wing, FLCL, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust,

**Panting now, tries to continue**

Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai (say it three times fast...), Love Hina, Irresonsible Captain Taylor, Vampire Princess Miyu....

**phew** The list goes on, but I don't. I'm stopping here 'cause I'm rapidly running out of breath/time to talk about these great shows. The names of these series go in the order of when I thought of them, not in order of how good they are. There are TONS more that are out there, but its entirely up to you as to what is good and what isn't.

Of those that I listed, I'd say a full third of them could be called "Godlike" in their presentation, impact, and/or style. Others are merely fun to watch; mind candy. Take these names and read up on them on any review site to find out more about them; then pick out what you like and try to find 'em.

Good luck!

Grr. I saw Trigun at a friend's house on the telly, and I liked it a lot, but try as I might I can't seem to find any of the first couple of epiodes on DVD or anything.
