Damn, that must have been costly...

Europe was cheap, since you can take the train everywhere and there are continental train passes to buy. Intracontinental air fares at no frill companies are also quite cheap.

The places ouside of Europe were pretty much family vacations (hence the known tourist destinations), so they cost me nothing. :D

Well... Let's see where I have been:

I have lived in Vermont (New Hampshire border) all my life.
Spring of 1983: Montreal, Quebec, Canada, quite possibly one of the few places I've travelled to colder than my home state. (And the only time I have ever been out of the US :(

Trips to Pennsylvania
Trips to New Jersey
Trips to Maine north all the way to the border.
Been through New York and Connecticut, never really stuck around.
Been to Rhode Island once
Been to Massachusetts a lot, live on Cape Cod for a week every once in awhile.

Visited PTL in 1986 right after the Challenger exploded. (South Carolina and North Carolina) lots of lasting memories. Learned a valuable lesson too, never drink Mello Yello right after drinking half & half. (Was six at the time.)

July 1997: Travelled south to Pensacola, FL on train, to go to the Brownsville Revival. Saw some of the historic monuments in Washington DC from the train, thought that was cool. Also had a brief layover in DC in the train station, which was nice (and warm.)
Continued south through Georgia and got off the train in Jacksonville (which was very warm.) Drove west to Pensacola and went through Alabama on the way. Also the only occassion I have ever been in the central time zone.

Since then, work, and work, little time for vacations I'm afraid.

OK,

Canada: pretty much all of it - except Newfoundland and the Yukon. Used to do long road trips on my bike, both to the East and West Coast.

US: criss-crossed most of New England on summer trips to the seashore or winter trips skiing, plus all the way down the east coast to Florida, not to mention working trips of various lengths to Vegas, San Antonio, LA, DC, New York, Atlanta, Stockton, San Fran, Chicago, and a few others that I am forgetting.

Add in Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas for vacations.

Europe: Lived in Oxford, Cambridge, London, and Edinburgh plus travelled through most of the rest of Britain. Trips to Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Austria.

Others: Morrocco, Venezuela.

And I know I'm forgetting at least one other.

I have not had the opportunity to spend any time yet in the Pacific or Asia, although I once had to turn down a job offer to spend a year in Brisbane due to an ongoing family issue at the time. And for the past few years the logistics of travelling has been rendered difficult.

But once the kids get older it will be time to start that sort of thing again. If I were to prioritize my next few areas to spend time in it would be Asia/Australia and more of South America.

Whenever we move overseas, the Government pays for us to get nice, big houses, they pay most of our taxes, and give us free entrance into schools;even private/international schools! Of course, I've only lived in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Panama, the U.S., Mozambique, and Zimbabwe(I just visited the other places), but that's still alot of moving for a 13 year old.
