What is to be made of this?
Is it a mistake to go towards peace?
Do the religious leaders represent the specific religon?
If they do not represent the people then why are still allowed to have power and control?

Of course they don't represent all of the Jewish religion. These are a specific number of individuals who are the religious leaders of a group that happens to be religious, and mostly right-wing nationalists opposed to giving up land. Most of the people in Israel are secular Jews, and polls show that most Israelis are for the pullout of gaza, and the success of the summit. Theses rabbis do not have 'Power' as such, they are not politicians, and don't make decisions for govermnet. The power they have is just influence over the religious communities they lead, but that's perfectly kosher, though pehaps not that agreeble to most liberal Israelis.

Just another case of "Godly" men acting in an ungodly manner. How sad. Another reason not to trust Rabbis, Priests, or Ministers.

I can't think of any reason at all to place trust in any "Godly" people, proclaimed, self-proclaimed, or otherwise. Can you?
