I'm a gay white atheistic man,

I'm also a manager and teacher and I'm proud of my staff who could kick ass ..ehm.. competition any time. :p

no one really, I hope you change - but what can I do?

Change what - being white, or being a good teacher and manager?

Or being non-atheistic - would Buddhism suit you better? Why?

May I ask what it is that you teach? Do you teach gayness, how to be white, an atheist, a manager or a teacher?

BTW your name reminds me of that joke:

What did the Chinaman and his Chinese wife whom gave birth to a black baby name their son?

Sum Ting Wong!

any sort of spiritualism, preferably Christianity

because I think it'd be good for you, I think Christ died for you and you'd be a happier person embracing all that that means

Go Wong! Be proud of who you are. (Though your name is unsettling :P)

Personally, I'm white, lesbian, pagan, and vegan... and married to a white, lesbian, pagan, vegan... She converted me to veganism...

Sucks for you then. Being atheist and gay ain't gonna earn you brownie points in the moral department, but that's not my concern.

Of course you may ask.

I teach business related stuff. Somebody has to do my job when I'm on vacation, and someone should be able to take over my job so that I can get promoted, right?
And everybody in my area of responsibility should provide excellent service to customers.

Can you define gayness, please? Don't know what you mean. How do you measure it?

I think, Jesus was gay. He didn't die for me. He died, because people like you didn't accept his differences.

Oh come on, pulling random theories out of a hat to justify yourself is ridiculous. Fine, be different, but don't come up with wacko theories to justify it.

You mean the bible is a wacko theory? Did you ever read that book? Quite interesting, I might say. Although a bit boring, especially reading about all those 900 children of Abraham. Pretty busy guy.

Or the other guy who was ready to kill his son, just because he heard voices? Pretty wacko, if you ask me.

sure he did, he could have fled - why didn't he?
Alorielia
26-02-2005, 07:46
Sure, he could have fled, but if he had, would we be here discussing him right now? The fact is, Jesus stood up for what he believed to be true and died for it.
I believe that Wong is trying to imply that he is similarly standing up, though hoping that in doing so people see that he is not wrong instead of killing him. Not quite as risky of a scenario as Jesus had, since this is a rather anonymous forum. Still though, standing up for what you believe, in any arena, takes strength.

On that point I say bravo!

Gayness is just that, Gayness. You know the whole man on man love thing, dancing, crystal meth use, slick hair, glory holes, etc. You know, the whole gambit.

I wouldn't measure gayness with a ten foot pole. But if you look like this, (http://gayprideboyz.com/03/lbpride03/P5188933.jpg) you rank high on the gayness test.

You see, that's nice in a free society. Everybody can think what he likes and also talk about it.

Only by questioning existing things and improving upon them did the human society evolve into what it is now.

Can you imagine, how difficult it was for me to get my staff telling me where I went wrong and questioning my work? It took me a couple of years, but now they come to me and tell me what they think.

Well, I can understand why Alexander was in the army - with all those sweaty male bodies. I also enjoy watching soccer players kissing and hugging each other after a goal.

Do you ever go dancing with your wife / girlfriend?

And the other stuff you talk about - you have probably more experience with that than I - not my cup of tea.

I don't think you should change. Personally, I love the choices you've made. I'm a bisexual white atheist female, so I'm right there with ya.

People have their own decisions, their own minds. Let them have green hair, let them worship satanism, let them wear ripped shirts or whatever. That's the great part about freedom.

You are a jerk for asking me that. I lost my legs years ago. Sure I did dancing as a youth, including the 'funky chicken', the twist, and the mashed potato. We only danced with our best girls back then.

Well Wong, in my line of work (Private Detective), I have to be able to go undercover, so I must know the popular terms for what is out there in society.

Personally, I love the choices you've made.

Well, the only choice regarding being gay I made was not getting married to a woman I don't love, just for the sake of pleasing my environment.

A very tough choice since I always wanted to have children. But what's the point in creating a non-working relationship just to make children? It wouldn't be fair to the woman and most probably not good for the children either.

That's why I'm wondering who's interest do these religious fundamentalists really have in mind?

Adoption solves the child issue :)

Only half. There is still the question, whether we can adopt a child as a couple or as a single parent. And then what happens to the child if by chance the adopting parent dies?

Anyway, I'm probably too old to adopt a toddler. Foster parent for a teenager would be fine - if he / she would agree.

I don't remember the part in the Bible which says Jesus was gay. In fact, I've read it, and the man is engaged in no romantic relationships whatsoever.

Just going to throw out my two cents here.

While I do not support or condone your choices, I will defend your right to make them. I feel that even though you have made choices that I personally do not agree with, you should not be penalized for them.

Your family unit should be granted the same rights by the state as any other family unit. Now I just wish the politicians that "represent" me would figure that out as well. Hang the reasons behind it, a family unit is no better than another just because of sexual preference.

Actually, depending on the interpretation, he might have been romantically involved. There is much debate over Mary Magdiline (sp). After all, God did send him to Earth to experiance the human plight. Are not romantic relationships part of the human plight?
Zudumnar
26-02-2005, 08:29
Well, yes, no overt romantic relationships. On the other hand, his whole relationship with the Magdalene seemed a bit - charged, shall we say. And then again, John was the disciple "whom Jesus loved" and who "leaned on his breast" at the Last Supper. Maybe J.H.C. went both ways. Or at least the jury is still out.

I would tend to doubt most of the Mary Magdalene theories, as they come from non-official sources, and most aren't very credible. And I personally find God-Human interbreeding to be...just..not right. Even then, that certainly didn't mean he was gay, now did it?

Personally, I don't care about the sexuality of someone who may or may not have existed. As for mine, I'll take all comers - pun most definitely intended. Though I apologize for one thing: I'm white, and despite years of racial "reparative therapy" my skin color never changed. Oh well.

I danced with any girl, since I was just interested in dancing. Strangely there was always a queue.

I wouldn't know how to order Chinese food. Either my friends are doing it when we go out for dinner or - when I'm alone - I just point on dishes other people have on their table.

I think this can better be explained in terms of translation. Back in the day, these symbolic gestures had nothing to do with being homosexual, but were rather signs of brotherhood.

No no, there is credible evidence outside of the Bible to prove that Jesus existed. He truly did exist, the question comes in who was he actually.

Just out of curiousity, who the hell is Dan Brown? My information comes from a theology course from last semester, and I'm pretty sure I would have remembered that name if we had used his material. One of my best friends is a Dan Brown, and I would have found the coincidence rather amusing.
