Would you forgive a racist warmongering moron if it turned out that they had been bullied as a child, and were only trying to compensate for deep-seated insecurity?

Only if they sincerely asked for it, otherwise, no.

Forgiveness is about you not them. Never question do they deserve to be forgiven instead ask should I forgive them for my own sake.

My policy is that I don't suffer fools gladly or at all, for that matter.

I guess I would forgive him if he asked me, but it wouldn't undo all the bad things he'd done. Plus, is he asking for forgiveness because he intends to change, or is there another reason?

What is it I am supposed to be forgiving, exactly?
He has expressed an opinion, this opinion I disagree with, and in the case of VE I often disagree, but he has done me no harm, nor anyone else.
There is nothing to forgive.
Should he also have to forgive you, Independent Homesteads, for disagreeing with his position?

peter asked jesus how many times he is required to forgive a person. 7 times?
jesus tells him 70 x 7 times.

Your childhood has no bearing. If you do have problems, see a shrink. If you don't, then don't use it as an excuse.

If they asked for forgiveness and wanted to change then maybe though I could find it hard.
If they didn't ask for forgiveness, I would probably try and justify and understand them but wouldn't necessarily forgive them.
Also forgiveness is not needed for an opinion, just for if they cause harm, either emotional or physical, to someone because of their views.

As long as they keep deeply offending me, no.
There's nothing to forgive. If he wants to be a "racist moron" he can be a "racist moron". What's it matter to me?
