Why Hate?

Honestly I don't understand. Hate is such a harmful and useless emotion.

-It causes people to behave irrationally
-Like all stressors, it is proven to cause psychosomatic ailments (such as ulcers)
-It contributes in no way positively to society
-It has vast potential to destroy people around you
-Once hate takes hold, it's almost impossible to destroy it

The only other thing I can compare hate to is...narcotics. Hate is a drug! It's addictive!

Wait...It's also a virus! It can spread to others, and infect entire civilizations!

Shouldn't there be support groups and clinics for people infected with hate?

I just don't know anymore...Because those who are infected seem to relish it so...

Heh...You're probably right. Hate seems to stem from ignorance.

Hmmm.... Support groups and clinics for people infected with hate.... Hmmm....

You may be onto something.

because it's easier than thinking.

That is probably the most straightforward and direct answer you'll get.

Why go to all that bother of questioning your values, beliefs and preconceptions when you can simply hate those that challenge you?

...And all of Nationstates, having come up with the most correct answer possible on the first page; moves on to discuss other, less pressing topics.

Sometimes the answers are just there already. No discussion really needed.

Now here's a question; having thought through a thing/situation/problem rationally, studying it from as many angles as seemingly possible; is it still possible/desireable to hate? Or is hate PURELY irrational, never justified?

For example: The wanton destruction of something/someone you cherish greatly in a deliberately cruel manner. No concevible social or political benifits inherant in the action. Is it okay/good to hate the person/persons responsible for the action?

I hate ignorance.

And besides, I rather enjoy this emotion. It provides for willpower, a LOT of willpower and internal strength.

If anything, it's more useful than jealousy.

understandable? yes. Good? no Healthy? no. hate leads to obsession which leads to countless nights creepily pouring over surveillance photos in your mothers basement.revenge doesn't solve anything, it's true, but it feels good. though call. i dunno.

I can understand where you're comming from. That doesn't however make the hate right.

Heh heh, who said I had a personal stake in that particular rhetorical question?

I figured I'd get that reaction. So, which tragedy did you think I was refering to?

Do I want to know? Honestly?

Hmm? No, honest question. I had no agenda whatsoever when writing that question; so I was merely curious as to what agenda I was suspected of having. Kind of a morbid curiosity of sorts; what kind of crazy do I sound like? ;)

Perhaps rape? Sounds like a pretty hateful crime.

I hate cruelty, injustice and refusal to feel empathy. I feel like my hate and anger in this caes is helpful. It motivates me like little else does.

It's the time
of the season . . .
When the love runs high

In this time
give it to me easy . . .
And let me try with pleasured hands
To take you in the sun to promised lands
To show you everyone
It's the time of the season for LOV-ING

What's your name (what's your name)
Who's your daddy (who's your daddy)
He rich (is he rich) like me?
Has he taken (has he taken)
Any time (any time)
(to show) To show you what you need to live
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you why
I really want to know
It's the time of the season for LOV-ING

The hate is swelling in you now. Take your Jedi weapon. Use it. I am unarmed. Strike me down with it. Give in to your anger, Bolol. With each passing moment you make yourself more my servant.
