Bride and Prejudice

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone else has seen it, and what they thought.
I actually reall enjoyed it. It was a good bit of fun, very colourful and lovely. Picking out the references to the novel and the BBC miniseries was fun too. Ooh and Aishwarya Rai was gorgeous as always.
I think they could have developed the plot more though. I mean, I understand they couldn't have had another miniseries but the movie was less that two hours long. And judging by my experiences with Indian families, they can't have been too happy when Lalita wanted to marry Darcy... And what was that with the little sister and Wickham? I suppose it had to have a happy ending Bollywood style. :p
Um, yeah, opinions anyone?

I haven't seen it, because I thought I'd hate it since I liked Pride and Prejudice and hate Bollywood films (and the soundtrack to this one was rubbish). I might just see it now, though.

Well, it's not 100% Bollywood. And other than the change to the Wickham/Kitty story it is actually true to the book.
Just don't go in expectating seriousness and you'll be fine. And yeah, the soundtrack wasn't the best. The lyrics sound off in English. Hindi or Punjabi would have been much better.

I lied, I did like one Bollywood film - Devdas. Even though the end was so depressing...
Was Bride and Prejudice as good as Bend it Like Beckham?

I haven't seen it but both my wife and I are very keen. It looks like a lot of fun, I'm not exactly expecting it to challenge my mind but it appears to be colourful & lively and would be a welcome opportunity to "switch off" for the length of the movie.

Was Bride and Prejudice as good as Bend it Like Beckham?
It didn't have quite the same feel-good-ness that Bend it Like Beckham had. And I think there were a few more flaws. But it was more colourful and funnier.
You know, I haven't seen Devdas... I liked Lagaan heaps. I even got my boyfriend to like it. :D

I've never seen Lagaan...
And Devdas wasn't crap!
I also saw part of Chalte Chalte but it seemed really predictable so I left the rest.

Ahh that explains y u liked it. The biggest problem was it dragged on way more than ur average bollywood flick.

Yup, that's pretty much the right approach.
It was good to watch after a day at uni. :p

Slightly off topic, but has anyone seen the Loreal ad with Aishwarya in it? She looks white!
