I just heard that the Pope has had a tracheotomy and needs a respirator currently. The poor man...
:(

Also, I think my news may be behind a bit, so you all might already know about it, or more things may have happened that I don't know about yet.

You know what's rather peculiar? Supposedly there is no backup plan if the Pope slips into a coma. I wonder what the Church would end up doing?

it's a damn shame. Nobody else would have to work right up until this happens to them. If he pulls through this, which is doubtful, in my opinion, they should give him a long vacation.

i dont particularly like the church or what it stands for, but hes a human just like everybody else

its sad to see that he feels obliged to continue until he dies :(

I don't think its an issue of feeling obliged as such...

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the Pope holds office until he dies, at least that it what is suggested at this website (http://www.answers.com/topic/pope-1).

And it appears they're doing everything they can to squeeze the last bits of life out of him too... I think having been "at work" all this time I'd be rather looking forward to dying just to have a break.

he can resign if he wants...but from what ive read he sees it as his duty since he was appointed by god
