A few points for you to consider before making any rash decisions.
1) Sage won't be killed that easily, plenty have tried, only a few have suceeded.

As he absorbed the blood he seemed to grow, and he smiled down at Blackadder. One of his claws shot out, stabbing him through the leg, then another one in the other leg*
