Thunderstorms

It's storming where I am this morning. Pretty good one, too. I don't know if any of ya'll have experienced a good South Texas thunderstorm, but it is a sight to behold. Ya know that story in the Bible about Noah? What he experienced was nothing but a summer shower compared to what we in South Texas experience in an hour long storm.

I love these things. Thunderstorms are probably the single greatest form of weather there is.

Snow? Wow ... it was 80 degrees here yesterday (that's in F, not C).

i spent three nights under canvas in rainforest way up in the north of Argentina, it spent two days thunderstorming, then a wee short one on the third day.

unbelievebly impressive, there was just so much lightening going on, and the size of the raindrops, wow

Its a calm yet overcast night. 'Calm' is a bit strange considering my city is famous for 3 things:

-Its stupid looking parliment building
-Its incessant wind
-Its hair-raising airport

Are South Texas thunderstorms anything like Sydney ones?

We had some huge ones over the holidays... At one stage it was so windy the rain was actually travellng virtually horizontally and not landing in our backyard at all... I like standing in my window and watching the rain, hail, flying tree branches. :p

I was also caught in a thunderstorm in the air over Johannesburg once (they have REALLY big ones there). That was extremely scary. Especially sice we were in some crappy South African discout airline plane that bounced around terribly.

Very likely! I've often heard strong comparisons between Texas and Australia.

I love rainy days and thunderstorms. I'm a water spirit anyway. I'm also backwards. Sunny days bring me down and rainy days cheer me up. We have had an unusual rainy season here in the part of GA I live in. Its been a pain in the arse for my company though....construction and all. But I love the pitter patter sound of raindrops falling on the roof. Then the rumble of thunder......sigh...

Oh thunderstorms put me in a somewhat giddy mood ... I love them ... probably wouldn't get tired of them if they happened every day.

It is snowing here.

And I am really tired.

So I made my roommate drive me. :)
