Are there any good graphing calculators that can be downlaoded for free? An x-y-z one would be great. It needs to be: enter in the equations and press submit.

If you'll accept 2D (http://gcalc.net/)- free and easy to use.
If you'll accept temporary (http://www.fornux.com/index.html)- It's great, and google links to a free (permenant, student edition) download which may or may not be legal to post here directly.
Permanently, though, no, that doesn't seem likely. But there are certain methods to get Maple and Mathematica* which I cannot directly mention here on this privately owned website, as that could leave those who supply us with this wonderful website at liability. Though, if you know what to look for, www.sourceforge.net could give you something
*these are a bit more complicated than you asked for, but they're easy to learn.

If he couldn't pick it up, he wouldn't be able to use them. This is closer to legal than the (very common, here) practice of pasting entire articles, since it isn't containing the whole of a copywritten material, at least.
