And yep, we got the away goal - spilt my pint when that went in. It was almost full! I'm predicting a score-draw at Highbury.

Careful now. I've been a Blues fan since the late 1960s So why the %&#@! am i chatting to Gunners fan? Well at least you are a fan of a British club.
A score draw will do you no good, and you know it. I would not bet against 2-0. Highbury is a pig of a ground for the visiting team, the Germans will try to lock down a 0-0 draw. (Not the most adventurous of football styles). They could well come unstuck. It is probably better to be 3-1 down than 2-1. They could have difficulty getting out of reverse gear when they need to.

Only thing Highbury's a pig for is watching matches - you generally end up getting stuck behing a pillar. I know a score-draw won't do us good, but it's the way I see it going. I really don't think we're going through - even less than I did four hours ago. And Arsenal generally can't seem to break down teams playing ultra-defensive.
I realise this isn't exactly the idea of the thread, but this is the team/formation I think Arsenal should play in the return:
Lehmann, Cole, Lauren, Campbell, Toure, Senderos, Vieira, Fabregas, Reyes, Bergkamp, Henry - with Cole and Lauren playing as proper wing-backs with not too many defensive duties. Vieira can play a more defensive role, Fabregas and Reyes more attacking, and Bergkamp "in the hole" (I hate that phrase).
Oh, and well done on winning the league.
Can you believe that Porto is getting to the next round
just because Inter is screwing every match it plays... :p

Thanks for that....just wait for the replay - you'll be on the receiving end of an Arsenal backlash after we go out of the CL.
Maybe I should have a more positive view on football - Arsenal have only lost 6 matches this season (1 fewer than in the entirety of last season), and until last night, were the only unbeaten English team left in the Champions League, and one of only 3 teams unbeaten in the Champions League (the others being Inter and Juventus). Also, we can still (technically) win 3 competitions - the Premiership, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Premiership, only very technically. The FA cup is your best bet this year. Champions league is a little more difficult today than it was at this time yesterday, but keep the chin up.

Real Madrid (Juventus have just lost form)
Liverpool (Good win last night will keep em in it)
PSV (Should be tough enough to withstand saviola, esp if van bommel can run the mid field like last night, plus Gus got his tactics sport on)
Bayern (If campbell and cole aren't back and henry isn't on form then its over)
Internationale (Think they will nudge it, despite Porto have one of my favourite players in Diego)
Barcelona (Sooooooo close, but i think they will get it on attacking prowess...maybe)
Man. United (No Scheva...might be a worry, but i think Utd might get through)

Thanks very much, and good luck against Barca. It'd be funny, just because of how the Barca players are claiming it'll be a walk in the park for them. I remember in November 2003, the day before Arsenal played Inter's youth team...oh wait, it was their first team, wasn't it? :p ...one of the Inter players said Arsenal would lose by more than 3 and wouldn't even get into the UEFA cup by finishing third in the group. :D :D :D :D :D

The vaguely neutral part of me says it looked a bit dodgy (in other words, no). The football fan says yes, because it made the match far more interesting.
EDIT - so far, I've got one right (AC Milan).

We have two right between us, not good huh. (surprise, I picked Chelsea).
Tomorrow you need to either concede one less or score one more than we did today. That would do you. It's possible.

Well, we're capable of scoring that many - it's just a case of whether or not our defence is good enough without Campbell.

FINALLY!!! A place I can express my opinions!!!
I'll go through what I think of every 1/4 Finalist (and Inter, cos I think they'll go through)
1. Juventus - Excellent defense, but they are having trouble scoring. Zlatan isn't as effective as they hoped but Juve, being the 2nd most successful European club, know how to win. Like all of the best Italian teams, they are well-disciplined and hard working.
2. AC Milan - My pick as winners. No apparent weaknesses, and with Shevchenko due back soon-ish I don't really see a team stopping them. They mastered a valiant Manchester United.
3. Internazionale FC - A bit of a dark horse. They seem to have forgotten how to lose, but draws won't get it done. However, I think with Adriano (IMO world's best striker) they can take some scalps.
4. Liverpool - It will be tough for Rafa's men to progress to the semis, the other teams just have a little too much quality. And expect Gerrard to move to a real power club.
5. Chelsea - Not as overrated as people may think. I believe they have a real chance of winning, espceially with Mourinho in charge. Any team that can beat Ronaldinho... I mean Barcelona deserves recognition.
6. Bayern Munich - Another team with no real weaknesses. They are solid at the back, Ballack is an absolute champion in midfield and Roy Makaay is a goal-scoring machine. Semi-Finalists in my books.
7. PSV - The best team in Holland will probably fall at the next hurdle but who knows, because football isn't played on paper. They will, however, win the Dutch Eredivisie.
8. Olympique Lyon - As shown to us by their destroyination of Werder, Lyon are a potent attacking side with buckets of speed. I will not like to be in the shoes of their opponents in the next round.
Oh, and in case anybody is wondering (doubtful), being born in Madrid and all, I support the Galacticos. So, I'm disgruntled but I can accept that the better team went through...
