Question for Americans. California!

North Island

I am going to school next year in Hollywood, L.A., California. The school I will be in has no housing so I will need to rent or buy a place in L.A.
My question is how much is 'normal' for rent in L.A.?
How much will a one bedroom appartment there cost for a month? I'll be there for a year.

My school there has an agreement with a company called Oakwood and they have many homes for rent in America as I understand it but the price of renting a one bedroom is the question.

LA is a big place. That's like saying you're going to stay in Rhode Island.

Here's their website: http://www.oakwood.com/action/oakwood/search?event=search&city=Los%20Angeles&state=CA

Thanks! it's in Hollywood, the school that is. Does that help?

It all depends on where you are at in Hollywood to be honest. I suggest you just search around because prices can differ a lot depending on location and the quality of the place you want to stay. Some can be really cheap and some can be very costly. It all depends.

Hollywood sounds expensive. Up to 131 dollars per night if you're in an Oakwood furnished 1-bedroom right in the middle of Hollywood.

An unfurnished studio apartment in the same location is around 1,280 dollars per month.

You might want to find a neighborhood a bit further out and see if you can commute somehow. I'm not familiar with the Hollywood area myself, so I couldn't recommend another location.
