For those of you who don't know, Tony Abbott is the conservative anti-abortionist, Rhodes scholar trained as a Catholic priest, a boxer and first class footballer who is the Australian Health Minister. As a teenager Abbott had a son adopted out 27 years ago. Recently he has been put in contact with his son and found, much to his surprise, that they worked in the same building and had met before. Daniel O'Connor, a sound recorder for the ABC which covers parliment house and in an amazing coincidence, worked alongside his biological father in Parliament House in Canberra for some time while unaware of their blood bond, made contact with both his biological parents between Christmas and New Year. how sad for this dave fellow to realize his father is a failed priest and ex professional thug who after spawning and abandoning him became a hack politician then forced his way back into his life. oh well at least he knows daddy wouldn't have pressured mommy into flushing him if he could have, there are always small consolations in life.

Well of course, but the fact is the vast majority of Australians think the abortion issue is fine as is (something like 80%), and doesn't need to be raked over again. So Tony Abbott is just being an annoying little bully.

Well yes basically. In Australia it would refer to Anglo-Irish/white values in teh face of increasing migration and secularisation etc. So yeah.
Like I said, aren't euphemisms great?
