Fourth Round Results!

You must have given a reason for how you voted for your vote to have counted. However, if I added back in the reasons, the results would have changed in number only, but not in outcome towards next round. I found that ... moderately surprising.

Every time I have read a serious post by these people, that post has been well written, well argued and more often than not supported by links to sources. In addition I have never seen any of them resort to ad hominem at any time.

Finefinefine. Since I'm so... pressured at this late hour, I'll provide a reason. I ain't ever seen Neo-A act anything other than flawlessly towards other people, but with such a finely tuned bullshit-o-meter.

Keruvalia - 2, because this is the only other Muslim liberal that I know of on NS, and I thought myself to be the only one. And even though he's a new Muslim, he knows way more than me, and can really put his two cents in an issue concerning the religon.

4 for Eutrusca. Since I only get 4 votes, I have to make them count. Eutrusca always presents his side to each debate well reasoned and supported even though his views may not be the most popular. He always treats everyone with respect and teaches rather than preaches. He's extremely loyal and he always takes the time to offer advice and counsel to anyone who asks for it. He's just an all-around great guy!!

Alien Born - I've only noticed his posts in the last few days, but he argues with great clarity, intelligence and humour.
Cogitation - a mod who uses both thought and humour, and who cares about the people on these boards.
FairyTinkArisen - nice to everyone, whatever their views, and funny. A key thread in the social fabric of General, leavening the mix and welcoming newcomers.
Neo Anarchists - awesome humour and post count for her length of service on NS. Strong indications of intelligence and sound attitude to her fellow humanity.

The others are pretty damn good too but, meh, only four votes to go round them all.

It has gotten down to the point where the votes really have to count in the manner in which they are applied. So I feel led to say something about each of the remaining members. Then I shall cast my votes.


Alien Born- he's been such a great addition to NS. His posts are intelligent, his comments are informative. He's rather nice too. Can take a joke as well as deliver one.

Cogitation- my favorite mod because he "thinks about it for a moment". He handles reprimand in a most professional manner. He may make you walk the line, but he will be fair about the manner in which he handles it. He is proud of his religious beliefs yet does not force them on others.

Eutrusca- with age comes wisdom, someone once said. I feel like Eutrusca has seen as much as anyone ever could during his roles as a husband, a father, a grandfather and a soldier. I'd love to sit down and listen to a story of his life. He is so full of positive energy. He stands up for what he believes in, yet respects the views of everyone else.

FairyTinkArisen- ah Tink. I think she's got guts. She is rebellious no doubt. But if everyone in life always conformed to the "Rules", we wouldnt have some of the great leaders of the past and present. Today she may defy an online forum moderator....tomorrow she may defy injustice and oppression. It all begins with courage. She has that.

Keruvalia- a man of fairness. A man of family values. He has administered this contest in every way possible to ensure legitimacy. He is extremely intelligent and one of the funniest people I've had the pleasure of interacting with in my life. Would love to have him as a friend in real life.

Neo Anarchists- energetic and positive. Always helping the mods point out areas that may need attention. I see Neo helping other find answers to questions on the forum all the time.

[B]Peechland- I'm a good cook. ;)

Swimmingpool- I am afraid that I have had no interaction with you, but someone else seems to find you respectable. Congrats to you for making it to round 4.

Cogitation - 1 Vote: Let's face it, moderating out of control political nuts like those around here is a though job. This guy deserves respect for even trying.

Eutrusca - 1 Vote: I always enjoy the posts, they're very well thought out. And he has alot of experiance in life, something lacking from people my age.

Keruvalia - 1 Vote: Again, I always enjoy the well thought out posts. Very calm when posting, but when you loose your temper, it's funny (Or at least I think it is.)

I added my reasons, but I don't think that this reason giving idea is working out as well as would be hoped.

I personally don't see what is wrong with a popularity contest, there should have just been some consideration given to post count or length on this site.

Eutrusca 1 : A thoroughly nice guy, even if we don't agree on all things, he still knows both sides of his arguements before making his choice, and (usually) qualifies himself as to why he made such a choice.

In the posts I have seen by these individuals, they have consistently maintained rational, civil attitudes and have not committed personal attacks against other NationStates players nor acted with malice.

While there may be other such individuals in the list provided, I am not familiar enough with their post histories to be able to say the same thing with confidence*.

Keruvalia [4] - He is very intelligent. He almost always turns around an argument with a clever statement, backed up by evidence. He is also a music teacher, father and politicial activist! He is not afraid to try something new. He is an all-round great forum member.

Ok, Eutrusca gets a vote because he's reasonable, decent, and served the USA in the military
Peechland gets two votes because she's got good family values, is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and stands up for what she beleives in.
Keruvalia gets one because I think he's a decent guy, I like his posts, and he has good taste in music and food. We don't see eye to eye on some things, but it's never gotten personal when we disagree. I respect that.
