Ever Lick a Toad?

Apparently dogs in Australia are getting addicted to toad poison. The Cane toad excretes a hallucinogenic poison. Dogs lick them and just can't stop. Of course, dogs eat some other disgusting things, too. But no sane person would do this, would they?
free hallucinating?

It's a very deep spiritual experiece, akin to drinking peyote, or knocking back a full sheet of high-powered blotter acid. And, of course, it's free. So don't knock it. If smarties are made from beetles, then what's wrong with licking toads?

Licking a toad is good for the bowels.
I'd lick toad any day, so to speak.

Don't bother, you can fuck up your body with the bufotenin.
The venom of Bufo alvarius contains 5-MeO-DMT, which is psychoactive, and bufotenin, which is toxic.
Other species of toad will probably just kill you instead.
Sticking with les dangerous stuff is probably a good idea.
(Takes deep breath)...Not in this lifetime...But, y'never know!

You get the same effect when you stop eating, drinking and sleeping.
Anyways, I'm more addicted to gas fumes and riding a snowmobile.

There was a documentary on this about 5-8 years ago. Pretty funny one, too. The cane toads were introduced to get rid of some insect pests affecting crops in Australia against which the toads were entirely ineffectual. The beasties were effective against native birds and other wildlife.

Has anyone ever introduced a non-native species to control other native species successfully? It seems the non-native one always runs wild over just about everything else.

1 only certain toads produce the proper substance, Bufotenin
2 the wrong toad can make you sick or kill you
3 Bufotenin isn't a great high
4 There are easier, safer ways to have a good time!
Morning glory seeds contain Lysergol, a chemical precusor to LSD. Don't use the ones you buy in the store, they are intentionally poisoned to prevent their use as a drug.

Bufotenin hasn't shown itself to be psychoactive in less than toxic doses, to my knowledge. The proper toad to lick is Bufo alverius, whose venom also contains 5-MeO-DMT.

Mmm, lysergic acid amide.
You'll want seeds from either the Heavenly Blue, Flying Saucer, or Pearly Gates variety. And they're dangerous in combination with MAOIs.

Well, that'll do more brain damage than Bufo alvarius venom will, and have much less psychoactive effect.
