It's now 3-3. They of course have the original announcing with Al Michaels. The "Do you believe in Miracles line" ought to be coming soon.

BTW: It was when the USA Olympic hockey team beat the USSR team, which was heavily favored to win the Gold, in the semi-final round. The USA got the gold beating I think Norway in the final round. Disney made a movie about it, but I haven't seen the movie.

That was the first time I watched that game. I heard it on the radio the first time. When the game was over, all of us in the car just went nuts! It was so exciting!

Or, as we call it in Russia, the Fluke.

Or, as we call it in Russia, the Fluke.
The announcers made a point of mentioning how the Russians had beat these guys, 10-3, just a couple weeks earlier. But the US managed to get a gold medal, that took several "flukes".

It was no fluke. Both sides played a very good physical game. There were no lucky shots or saves for either side. It was an amazing game full of hard hits by both sides. It was a near flawless game by both sides.

Herb Brooks proved he was an amazing coach. It is noteworthy that he coached the 2002 team and beat the Russians again. He was just a good coach who obviously knows how to counter Russian hockey. It was a shame he died in that car crash 18 months ago. I was looking forward to him hopefully coming back in 2006 to make another run at the gold. He was a legend. May he rest in peace.

I like the old way of Olympic hockey with No NHLers. Mostly Because it gave every team a chance at winning gold. NHL Ruins everything....bah
