So how does one qualify as a newbie? I mean, I've been around for over 6 months, but have a fairly low post count (comparatively, with some of you at least). Is it below 100 posts? Below 250? Below 500? Or is it on age? Under 1 month? 2? 3? 6? A year?

yeah, the first time is always a little awkward, no matter who you're posting with. YOu don't really know what you're doin with it, you don't know how to make your partner happy yet, it's just awkward. But it has to happen, you have to get it over with. and you know, awkward doesn't mean bad. even an awkward moment, if it's shared with someone you love, can be one of the best of your life. :D

I was born in Kaarina, also a small place. I'm not familiar with Halikko, I'll look at a map soon. My mother was from close to there. Parrainen. My father came from north of there. Near Kankanpaa.

I was two. I have been back twice for vacation.

Yes, Canada (Northern Ontario) is very similar to Finland. Lots of lakes, the trees are very near the same. You have a couple we don't have, as well as a bird we don't have.

Not much. Gladly relatives don't live around the corner and I have good ties with them. So up and down the west coast we go :)

We landed in Helsinki. Then we drove. We went up the west coast as far as Oulu. Then we headed east and did a large loop ending back in Helsinki. My father had never travelled that part of the country. I really enjoyed the fallls in, what was the place.. It's all dammed up for hydroelectric power, but they open it what twice each day?
